Honest question-has david stern ever donated to rutgers bball?

Athletic fund raising is up because of increased ticket sales, higher ticket pricing, addl seat premiums and parking fees. These increases are all directly attributable to B1G membership. But you already know that.

Also know the subsidies being eliminated out of RU's Athletic budget was around 47 million for the 2012-13 season up from the $27.9 million it received the year before.
The revenue you're using as an example of how rich RU is getting because of its B1G membership now has to be used to help cover the ending of the AD's reliance the subsidies that made up close to 60% of what Rutgers allocated to the Athletic Department.
The revenue you just used and the revenue from the B1G ( as it stands till 2021) will help offset the loss of that $47 million in subsidies as the funding from it is being reduced until the subsidies are completely eliminated.

Not as simple as you're making out the use of revenue gained.
Revenue lost complicates the issue.

I have never understood this endless obsession with David Stern. Do you think that JH and the other ADs were not aware of him? He has been cultivated as has every other potential big donor, and has certainly made contributions. Ultimately, it is up to him whether to make a transformative gift. And just for the record, RU has many, many, alums worth far more than David Stern. Pretty silly to single him out just because you have heard of him.

no giving is actually up and yeah that's the benefit of being in the Big 10 but the school isn't getting more money for being in the conference yet either...but I guess you didn't know that

Simple, he's a well known alum and obviously has a big tie to basketball. Marcus is another one, a billionaire alum that most are aware about so they bring him up. But like I said and you mention here again most of the names here most likely have been contacted many times over the years. It's why I bring up names a little more off the beaten path but even those may have been contacted as well. It's simple messageboard discussion and should be taken as such, it's not likely someone is brought up here than hasn't come across someone's mind in the athletic department mind already.

Did Roger Goodell go to Rutgers? ...He has a few sheckles...
