Not sure why anyone would have thought them to be in the low 300s in NET?Well , now 2 teams that were thought to be in the low 300’s in the Net , Bryant and Howard , that will be in the low 200’s. I thought when we played Bryant they were pretty good with all their players 6’3 to 6’7 that could play and we had a nice 9 point win. They then went to FAU that was # 10 at the time and won and Fau is still ranked and just destroyed 3 pretty decent teams to win the ESPN invitational right after that loss.
Howard who I also thought was decent just ran into us playing our best game of the year for our 27 point win and tonight go toe to toe with 6-0 Cincinnati and lose in OT 81-76 .
So Princeton , Bryant and Howard , 3 better tests than most people who just hear the names and think they cannot be any good , were good for us and we got to 5-1 and more ready for the Big 10 gauntlet.
I'm someone that just looked at the team names on the jersey and not the players in the jerseys, and assumed these were bad teams. It's still reading tea leaves at this point, but definitely encouraging.Well , now 2 teams that were thought to be in the low 300’s in the Net , Bryant and Howard , that will be in the low 200’s. Yes , Bryant and Howard added to Princeton , Wake , Seton Hall and Mississippi State and Georgetown are 7 average to good teams to counteract our Boston U,, St Peter’s , LIU and Stonehill so out of conference is better than last few years especially with Princeton and Mississippi State on neutral floors and Wake and Seton Hall away. Not sure why anyone would have thought them to be in the low 300s in NET?
Bryant ended last season at 179. Preseason Ken Pom had them at 191
Howard ended last season at 213. Preseason KenPom had them at 203.
They're actually the best two teams on our OOC outside of Wake/Miss St/Princeton/Seton Hall.
There are ton of really good players all over the country and in every conference even the lower conferences and most of the really good ones are not residing in the BIG 10 conference compared to past years although a few remain.I'm someone that just looked at the team names on the jersey and not the players in the jerseys, and assumed these were bad teams.
