Hunt: Penn State offers 3-star Rutgers RB commit Johnathan Lovett after whiteout win

Mine are fine. How are yours? He made 2 comments today:

- "I am solid with Rutgers," he told Adam Baliatico. "I don't think this will change anything."

- "I'm not too sure," Lovett, the 5-11, 195-pound three-star told NJ.com Tuesday morning. "I didn't think any of it out yet." (which was made after being asked if this makes Rutgers have to "worry"....).

Neither of them make me think he's NOT coming to Rutgers (at this point). YOU are simply choosing to make the absolute worst case of the 2nd comment. The second comment, IMHO, means nothing more than "I haven't thought it out yet." That's all. Reading comprehension, right?

Ok, chief. We'll see who is right on signing day. I hope I'm wrong. Even if that is the case, I'll rest assured knowing your reading comprehension skills are, at best, suspect.

Easy to find? Guess you could give two craps if you had Fournette or Barkley?
It's easier to find a Fournette or Barkley than it is to find a Jonathan Ogden or Orlando Pace. If you can find the latter, a less talented RB will be able to approximate the former.

Looks like PSU has a few 4 star sophomore RB's and a five star freshman RB...will prob load up on more 4 or 5 stars for 2018 class...he better be ready for some stiff competition for playing time if he flips to PSU.

The only RB so far PSU had recruited was 5* swift out of philadelphia who committed to georgia and was never coming to PSU once Sanders signed. too much competition. I don't believe PSU has a RB committed for 2018 and my understanding is that the scholly opened up for Lovett once an O-lineman we had decided to quit football due to injury.

It will be interesting if Lovett is in attendance on Nov 19th and if that will make any impact in his recruitment

I read somewhere they are in the hunt for a 5 star RB named Slade for 2018. He is the top RB in the country. I think he is from VA.

Ricky Slade, good all purpose back from Va, but this cat Lovett has been turning heads this year as a late bloomer, and with slade having offers from all over the place and Lovett really only having the RU offer besides penn state (maryland too but whatever), I think Franklin understands that he has a better shot of flipping a kid from RU as opposed to competing with the Ohio State's of the world for Slade.

Not saying it couldn't happen, but I believe the Lovett offer at this time just shows the staff isn't super confident in landing Slade and feel obligated to turn their attention to Lovett to purhaps be this years' annual Rutgers flip (not flaming, just observing Blacknall in 2014, Barkley in 15' Barbir in 16') It's just an annual thing at this point

..or Ray Rice - the unrecruited RB (teams wanted him as a DB). Teams get lucky with great RBs. Many 3-4 starts dont live up to hype though. After the 4 star hypes of Rocket, Huggins, Robinson, Young etc I just dont pay attention to the position anymore. I want lineman - positions which have been killing RU for years and will lead to much despair in renewed B1G.

I'm sorry but is there any reason you're being a total, well, douche bag?

PSU leads for Slade. As of today, it'd be pretty surprising if he isn't part of next year's class. Ideally you take a back every cycle, and Swift still looks solid to UGA, thus the Lovett offer.

Actually think the offer is more of an athlete offer. Gett him on board and figure out if he's a safety or RB.

Are the Penn State administrators ever going to see a court room
to face their charges of ignoring/allowing/ not reporting PEDOPHILIA?
I guess to some recruits and their parents/advisers a little child rape is no big deal.

All of the charges have been dropped but 1.

Count on the remaining charge being dropped soon.

What? You ask. Where is all of the smoking guns/silver bullets that Louis Freeh used to condemn PSU?

Guess what - THEY NEVER EXISTED!!!!

Freeh just claimed in a depo that it was his 'opinion', as opposed to fact.

The Freeh report would make average cat litter linings.

No facts.

Graham Spanier is going to win from 10M to 20M from Freeh in his defamation law suit.

So find some other reason why a recruit might select Rutgers as opposed to PSU!

I think the depth chart was BS in regards to Swift. Look at UGA's depth chart and tell me it is any different that ours. Barkley has one more year and most people have always suggested that Sanders will not be an every down back. JMO.

Keep in mind that we also recruited McFarland. McFarland or Slade is a Miami lock. Not sure which one though.

Lovett was offered as a ATH for Penn State not a lock for RB, he will commit soon. He will not affect Slade and it's thought at this time PSU leads for 5* Slade.

Lmao PSU gets one win and now they think they are getting every recruit. Typically.

for the last time most of this thread is useless Penn State is not recruiting him as a running back they are recruiting him as an athlete and he will probably end up at safety so all the comparisons to the other running backs in this thread are null and void

We're not getting every recruit, but we're likely getting this one.

I don't like the poaching, but we're getting poached, so I suppose one must keep up with the Joneses or get left behind.

I see this somewhat differently than many here.
First, Ash and his staff are not "proven" coaches in the fullest sense of the word. He is a first year coach with a losing record and, unfortunately, not many chances to improve it.

Second, how does anyone know that the staff is capable of keeping this class together in the face of suitors from much better programs? Again, they have no record of doing this and comparing them to Flood and company simply does not have any significant data yet.

Finally, this whole process is fraught with hurdles that most should know well. Such as we are dealing with kids!!! This is more than enough to cloud the final LOI's which are still so far away.

So why hasn't he flipped yet?

I could see Mr Dbag Franklin telling him to hold off on an out loud commit to PU, till just after our game with PU..... this to stick it to us....

Similarly . I don't doubt that Blacknall was a silent commit to PU before he visited us late in the recruiting cycle , we saw pics of his visit here on the internet and thought he was firming up his RU commit.

Based on what are "we getting this one"? Excellent grammar, btw....:eyes:

Based on info supplied from a site saying it was only a matter of time. Just as your 247 site said he was solid for now. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle. Although your site writer Baliticio(wrong spelling I'm sure) is a huge homer. So you go to the old adage watch what a recruit does not what he says. He didn't go there to just enjoy a game...If he goes back to another one like Iowa in two weeks it's probably a safe bet he's gone.

lol please don't talk about "homer" writers to us...

Based on the open, obvious and bold writing on the wall that you either refuse to recognize or do not have the capacity to recognize.

Flips happen brotha'...it's okay....I've stated more than once now that I expect to lose a few kids. No big deal. A few years ago Fudd lost 10-12 kids from his class already. Top 10 classes lose 2-3 kids by now already. Shit happens So far, so good, right?
