I guess it's not so bad

Guess another thread revealing an educated guess of Flood being retained .
Like the educated guesses of Flood being terminated that were popping up in this board not to long ago.
Some even with direct knowledge of Flood being fired for cause.
Tomorrow someone in the know will let us know again, maybe even leaving themselves an opening to excuse themselves for being wrong, if what they claimed something ( because they are in the know) will happen doesn't happen.

Madhat- you nailed it. Some of the most "in tune" I know, openly say they have heard everything and thus, have no f-ing clue what it going to happen.
Though, without detail- there are whispers that Julie may be in as much or more jeopardy then Flood
That in no way vindicates Flood but may save him.

RU football is one of my only sports passions left, and I am very close to losing interest. I will definitely be dropping from 4 to 2 tickets next year if Flood is back (have had season tickets since '92). And I could be considered a Flood supporter before this nightmare of a season. Not sure if I will even go to the game on Saturday. I can deal with losing, but incompetence is inexcusable... and now it seems that the higher ups truly just don't care, so why should I?

The question of keeping season tickets depends on ones perspective.
Those who say, "I have waited a long time to see these teams on the RU schedule and I'm going no matter what." have a point. And, those who say," I recognize that it is a definite schedule upgrade, but watching us get our asses kicked is not worth me being there." also have a valid point.

It all depends on expectations. When Rutgers first went "big time", it was merely signing on to play some of the top teams in the country (ie Alabama, Tennessee, etc.) thrown into our regular quasi-ivy league schedules. Expectations of winning were certainly pretty low so when we did shock once in awhile like Tenn. and the near win to Bama, it was great. Is that what we want now?

Being a member of a P5 conference, it comes down to what does the university really want? Are the powers that be happy to be merely sitting at the table as the redheaded stepchild? Will it be one excuse after the other for not being really competitive? Right now it is money. That will not be the case in the future with the expected financial windfall. Will the "Rutgers 1000" actually end up winning after all by us not being what many want this program to be?

There are just so many unanswered questions. This should not be the way it is! Getting into a P5 conference and especially the BIG was on table for a long time. This didn't happen over night and the fact that we are still stumbling around just shows how dysfunctional the leadership really is.
NO...we absolutely have to send the so called ''100'' .....NOWHERE NEAR a thousand since GS and certainly the B1G...we need to send them into hiding...lol..

I get your point but at some point the conduct of the administration becomes so egregious that even the most loyal reconsider.

I have friends who have bought VWs their whole life who will never buy another now.

If you found out that RU was fraudulently hiring out-of-work actors as professors to save money, would your advise your college-bound kid to still attend? Is Flood not completely unsuited for his position? If so, why support an administration who knowingly keeps a fraud as head coach?
I blame it on the Bossanova..the dance of love....no seriously....it falls on Christie and Barchi and political greed though i can't prove it....bring back Uncle Bob Mulcahy and some real vision..

i just want us to do something right for a change. College is not about sports but sports do bring eyes and money to the university if you are smart.
We got into the B1G because of football, not because of the education(which is very good)...what we are doing at this point is total bullshit.
If we keep Flood and Julie, then she needs to step in front Sunday and hitch herself to him. If she wants a change, get the money, beg the money or do whatever it takes/ that is her damn job.

Now, whatever it takes is not Tressel or Kiffin. Let's not forget who we are- but dammit, get into the battle and make a freaking move. Or don't and support what you have.

None of that will happen. Barchi isnt going anywhere - hes savvy enough to avoid that fate. And I think Julie is too.

Yeah, because Barchi and JH have shown they can handle the media....lol

Just watch. Monday President Pennywise will announce Flood remains. By Wednesday at the latest there will be more leaks than Hoboken water main of all Flood's misdeeds and Julie's involvment and Barchi covering it up to save $700,000 and it will get very ugly. The three clowns will be gone in a week and at this rate that may be what is needed.

Also, why would Flood be booed more than he was 2 weeks ago against Nebraska? We beat Army since then and are 50-50 to beat Maryland, so the boo-birds are likely to be subdued, unless we tank.

You are joking, right?

We beat Army and that pacifies the masses?

Wow, maybe you should be our game scheduler.
Guess we would play Army, Norfolk State, Kansas, Iowa State, UMASS, Oregon State, Idaho, Maine, San Jose State, Wake Forest, Howard, and Morgan State each year.

I THINK we can go 5-7 and make a bowl with that schedule!

People hearing rumors of Flood being retained will be out for blood.

Flood better pray we don't fall behind 14-0 and the we pop the PSA commercial. That would be priceless.

So let me get this straight -
- some are predicting that KF who had how many arrested for felonies plus some more as well, who knowingly violated University academic rules and is clearly disliked by a significant segment of the fan base will be retained,
- but the champion of the LGBT community will be dismissed?

Did they forget this is Rutgers? The only people in trouble at this university are adult white males who have a job.

That schedule looks about right if a certain coach everyone wants back here is hired...

You do realize that probably only a small handful of fans have been following this drama?

This is Jersey, I'm sure there are plenty of ticket holders who never come to this website that think Flood has done a poor job and are not afraid of booing.

Unless there's a surprise monsoon, there will be way more than 25K there on Saturday. Any rain should be very light and it'll be mild, so I'm guessing at least 30K and probably 35K (would be more if the students were around). Also, why would Flood be booed more than he was 2 weeks ago against Nebraska? We beat Army since then and are 50-50 to beat Maryland, so the boo-birds are likely to be subdued, unless we tank.

Announced crowd was 44K and while that was a fantasy, there was certainly about 30-35K in the stands, just as I expected with decent weather. Way more than bac and many others were predicting.

Since the north end zone was mostly full, I would estimate the total crowd at nearly 40K, which would likely make it the largest home crowd ever to watch a Rutgers play its final game of the season with a losing record already assured. And it was a surprisingly enthusiastic crowd, at least for the first half. That must say something about the level of support for the program, support which will likely wane if a change isn't made now.
