I love that Saeed Blacknall sucks

Is the OP 12 or younger? If so, do your parents know you post nonsense like this? If not making this thread makes you look REALLY bad. I will just leave it like that.

We definitely have the most UNDERZEALOUS fans on the whole rivals network...
Oh absolutely. It's definitely the fact that our fan-base is too classy and politically correct that's keeping our football program from winning a national championship. If only we heaped more public hatred on our decommits, we would surely have won several national championships by now.

Noah Brown at Ohio State was the kid that wanted to verbal, but something broke down along the way of his goal of verballing to RU and him getting the offer from Ohio State....he broke a bone in his leg last year, but is back and looks 100% this year.

Blacknall is a mystery, he has the size, nice kid, but not a fluid WR...watched him twice live in HS and never saw a game changing player in HS, but I also saw Blacknall vs Sayreville and Myles Hartsfield. Hartsfield didn't want any part of tackling Manalapan that night and I would have felt Blacknall would have had the better career, figuring Blacknall would develop into a Brandon Coleman type player . Instead Hartsfield prepped after the Sayreville debale and is now at Ole Miss about to host Alabama next week and Blacknall hasn't stepped up yet.

The concerns at the time from the WR's recruited was the crop of QB's on the roster after Nova and that has proven to bear itself out as a huge factor. If we had landed a better QB under Schiano and Flood to follow up after Nova, we would have possibly seen a different result in recruiting. Hackenburg was in place at PSU along with other kids in the fold....At some point RU needs to step up it's QB recruiting, if you want better playmakers on the outside.

You sure about Brown? It seems to me all the Big 3 at Pope John had greener pastures outside NJ in mind. IIRC, Brown liked RU for sure, just liked OSU a whole lot better.

zero catches yesterday. Kid would have been our #1 the next two years but instead he doesn't even get targets. Love it
Don't like the idea of him not getting targeted where he's at, meaning he might have been overrated coming out of HS and considered better than the receivers Rutgers has on roster.Don't think he'd be #1 at RU if he can't get noticed where he's at.
Hopefully RU receivers would get targeted by the Nit QB because their better than someone who hasn't produced like thought since committing to Penn St.

He was injured OP. Maybe you should change your thread title and post to celebrate that instead.

I was worried about him after last season but supposedly he had a great off-season. Hard to call a career after two years. He's also a starter so he must be decent since Johnson and Charles are right behind him.

We definitely have the most UNDERZEALOUS fans on the whole rivals network. "Don't care that the recruit spurned us, wish him well!!!" My god. Yes, we should all root for such players, hope that they do very well, so not only do the teams we need to compete against win, but with any luck their success will help them recruit other NJ kids away from Rutgers, right? It's amazing that we don't have fans who realize that's how it often works.

A Penn State fan regularly posts here with a pic of Gerald Hodges. Can you imagine if a tOSU fan did that on the BWI board with someone from PA, like for example Terrelle Pryor? How long would that fan last? How long before the PSU fans ripped him a new one and/or he got banned from the site? And Pryor didn't even decommit from RU like Hodges did from Rutgers.

The nature of athletic competition is that it is a zero sum game. One team wins and one team loses. A WR and DB compete for a throw and one wins as it is either complete, incomplete, or intercepted. I root for certain teams to win and others to lose, and realize that successes and failure by individual players will cumulatively result in team outcomes. It sucks that so many of our "fans" either don't realize that, or have the type of "PC" mentality that is so disingenuous that it has provided a cause and opportunity for one of our Presidential candidates.

Just to set things straight, that is my sig everywhere. I didn't do it to flame RU. I did it because I thought it was awesome he wore Mauti's jersey for that last game. In addition, that was the 2012 Wisky game which is one of my favorites of all-time. Finally, the snow flakes in the night background aren't very noticeable but are badass.

If I was trying to flame, wouldn't I change the sig to a current player?

I never correlated the UNDERZEALOUS nature of our fan base with winning national championships, so your point is lost on me.

kjb - I don't doubt what you say is true.

Okay. Then perhaps you can provide some Cliff Notes that explain the point of this post of yours:

You seem to be defending the OP's position that we should be happy and celebrate some kid's misfortune because he opted to go to PSU instead of RU. And you appear to be chastising the RU fan-base for finding such a post classless and that we don't "realize that's often how it works".

If that's not what you were saying, then please explain what you are saying.

If that is what you're saying, that what possible good could come of being douchebags to kids who opted to play elsewhere? It's douchebaggery for the sake of douchebaggery. I'm a douchebag for the sake of (attempted) humor sometimes (okay, lots of times). But c'mon - why be a douchebag to some kid you don't even know? In what universe is that considered the right thing to do?

I could not possible care less how well or poorly this kid does, as long as PENN STATE sucks. He could be an All-American, make 104 catches for 1100 yards and 15 touchdowns, as long as they lose 12 times 45-42, I'm a happy guy. Conversely, if he is DNP 12 times and they go undefeated, I'm not happy at all.

That said, the petty nature and poor taste of the OP is awful, if not atypical. Hate to see it. Not everyone who picks Rutgers is a saint, and not everyone who doesn't is a sinner. Total nonsense.

We just made national fools of ourselves for half a game against Howard and this is what you waste a thread on?

Georgia almost lost to Nichols, never even heard of that school.

Again, the only thing that makes me pay attention to the career of Blacknall was the late and painful decommitment .....

As a RU fan it is only natural to notice if his name pops up in sports write ups,
either in a good or bad way,as a football player.

This week I noticed that BArkley got about 5 touchdowns for PU...... You notice it, but you don't dwell on it.

He was injured, but is currently our second best receivwe behind only Godwain. Would easily be your best receiver this year, but whatever helps you sleep at night.

Did you even bother to follow the thread to see what I was responding to..wow

Good post. In my case, I don't even want any other teams to suck. I just want us to beat everyone we play every season. I have no antipathy towards any team (although Syracuse fans visiting our board made that difficult at times).

I've never been apart of any sport fan base that talks so much shit. It's one thing to friendly bash rivals, but I don't understand how fans talk so much trash against teams we can't and do not beat.

I've always wondered.

When we joined the B1G, geniuses here had us rolling over "inferior" teams like Illinois, Indiana, Purdue and Minnesota. I believe Iowa might have been in that mix occasionally, until even the board's biggest chest-puffing loudmouths had to admit they were in a different tier.

We had no valid historical or contemporary reason to think we'd consistently roll any of those teams, and some of those teams have actually had a better recent history than we have. Not sure what exactly is wrong with our fanbase, but it's easy to see why others despise us. At least a fanbase like Michigan, often maligned here, has something to point to when acting superior. We have exactly one very good FBS season, without a real conference championship or BCS bowl appearance, let alone win. Virtually all the teams people act superior to have a richer history than that.

Win something - anything - of merit first, then act superior and dismissive. Better yet, don't act that way regardless.

mildone - I don't know which is dumber here, you're antipathy towards other teams (disingenuous political correctness in my book) or your calling out Cuse fans visiting our board? On the latter point, are you still living in the 20th century? Do you still think we're in the Big East? Neither Cuse nor their fans have been relevant to us quite a while now, and their fans rarely post here, let alone on their own rivals board. I'll be you that kjb has more posts here in the last few weeks than the Syracuse fan base cumulatively.

If you're going to insult the intelligence of my antipathy toward other teams (after I just said I have none) and my calling-out of other teams (although I didn't actually do that), at least take the time to proofread your post. It's "your" antipathy, not "you're".

Otherwise, I totally get your point.

Have to take your word for him being so good.
All I know is in 2014 had 10 receptions in 6 games and 8 in 5 games for the 2015 season( injured both years?) and two this year in two games ( injured or 2 receotions makes him Avis of the Nit WR corps [winking])
Can't say those statistics prove he'd be #1 at Rutgers , but coming out of HS he looked to be someone who could be the #1 receiver at Rutgers and PSU.

I was in a rush to hit the road this morning, and best you can do is to go all "grammar police" on me? OK, with that said, now what is YOUR excuse for thinking that we are still playing in the Big East and that Syracuse is our big rival?

You didn't make any sense before. You're not making any sense now. Give it a rest.

LOL. Seriously. Maybe it was his first time using mommy and daddy's computer? Wait till he discovers porn.

... another post that makes no sense from the guy who thinks Syracuse is our big rival ...

Your butthurt in this thread is pitiful. You made a dumb post and got called on it. These attack posts of yours just make you look insecure and childish.

Feel bad, he was all set for Rutgers before the used car salesman got him to flip. He could have been a star here... Instead of just one of many there...

If he's not a star there, might be he wouldn't be a star playing for RU.
Sometimes kids don't produce at the college level like thought they would.
He still has time and could turn out to be a real good one, but don't say he'd be a star at Rutgers unless he proves to be one or close to one with the school he's with now.

Dumb post? - Hey, I'm not the one who thinks that we are still playing in the Big East.
