I saw Eddie and spoke with him for about 10 minutes tonight at the Metro Classic at Kean University. His son was playing for St. Thomas More of Connecticut. They played the Montverde Prep team and STM won in 2 overtimes. Union Catholic beat Nottingham in OT and the Montverde Varsity beat Linden. Montverde is taller than most D-1 teams and are #3 in the nation. Eddie said he loves to watch his son play and that he is doing great.

How much did Linden lose by ?

LHS lost 61-38. Montverde's height bothered them so much more than that of Roselle Catholic or the Patrick School. They are so tall at all 5 positions on the court. Their players come from all over the country plus a few foreign students and their 7 footers can really play. I think they won the national championship 3 of the last 4 or 5 years. After Sunday LHS will begin play on Tuesday in the Union County Tournament. They definitely will not see another team like Montverde this season.

Not at all. He said his son is probably a D-2 type of player. He said he just loves to see him play. His son who played football for RU arrived too and I got to speak with him for a moment as well.

I miss the battles between Hurley and Boyle when they had the best teams in NJ and were ranked top 5 in the country.

Any Rutgers coaches watching the games at Kean?Top tier talent on display.

Great for Eddie. Who cares? He did nothing for his alma mater. Lost all respect for him.

He inherited a self-destructing shit show. It was uphill all the way and his style and lack of energy made the climb even steeper. I wish him well, always.

He didn't want to return, but his love for Rutgers brought him back. His style of coaching was not suitable for college. He spent to many years in the pros and didn't relate to the college game. Thankfully for his effort and wish him well.

He didn't want to return? He applied for the job multiple times in the past. He didn't want to make $2-3 million. Please. They guy did NOTHING as our coach. No HS coach in NJ saw him. Lost all respect for him. Who cares that he was an excellent player for us 40 years ago. He was richly rewarded for it. IMO he duped us but good.

Its really not necessary to pick on the latest head coach that has failed at Rutgers.I much rather would like to watch a head coach that can actually achieve a NCAA bid after over 25 years of futility. The years keep spinning bye but the results have remained the same.Hopefully,Pikiell is the answer that fans have been waiting for .

Miss Boyle was pretty friendly with him. Had some beers wit him at RC last time he brought Montevide up from FL to play RC. Very Good coach
