Went to the Navy game (my second favorite team). They beat undefeated Memphis (Memphis favored by 9.5) in an incredible game, 56-44. Was watching RU-VA Tech online also. Memphis closed it to 49-44 with a 1:20 left. Got the insides kick and I thought it was over for Navy. Navy intercepted a pass at the Navy 14 with 29 seconds left and returned it for a touchdown. At the same time, Rutgers closed out the big road win.

After the two wins, my wife and I walked to downtown Annapolis and went out to dinner in one of our favorite restaurants. The air was fresher, the food tasted better, the wine was flowing, the buzz was great, the work week ahead seemed less daunting. We made new friends after dinner at the bar. Everyone was in a great mood. Maybe I'm too into CFB and Rutgers/Navy, but winning changes everything.

In the years we were playing both Army and Navy a few times- Army was by far our favorite. Too bad it was always horrific weather. My wife loved how polite the Cadets were to everyone. Didn't matter if you were visiting team or not- they would stop and hold the door, welcome you, smile.
The strange thing is that the Midshipmen, while not confrontational at all and over all nice, just didn't give that same level of respect. Just found it a little strange.

Maybe they are not as comfortable on land as they are on the sea...

I think Ken Niumatalolo encouraged Navy to be brash.
I never remember them being that way under Johnson.

Air Force is considered the worst by the older SAs.
Navy and Army like each other despite the rivalry and culture thing.
First Air Force class to graduate was class of 1959.
The older SA's can be dismissive of them.

Army and AF were really running hot with each other for awhile.
Army captain and AA LB Stephen Anderson though he was injured on purpose vs AF.
For a lot of regular fans Army vs AF is the calendar game
