If we Win 6 But Get Blown Out By Wisky, Is Flood Done?

I just don't see this ending well for him or us.

He's damaged goods. The scandals made national news...not our program, not our APR. His behavior (emails) made national news not his coaching prowess (or lack thereof).

I think Flood is basically a good man... but his first name should be PETER.
He's risen as far as he can go and proven the principle is still alive in Piscataway.

The chances of Flood being fired is slim.
It could have been done WITH CAUSE after the Barnwell investigation not costing us a penny.
To fire him after the season for performance would cost us well north of a million.
That would be a pretty poor business decision.

If we win 6, he stays (unfortunately). People mostly remember what you have done lately. We'll get the "we are improving" crap all over again and it will all be BS since our last two games are Army and Maryland.

That being said, I'd be thrilled with 6 wins out of this team (with this coach).

She's also won over 900 games and has competed for championships. The football coaching equivalent couldn't be had for anywhere near 1.6 million.
When was the last time women's basketball made a profit? Women's basketball is a loss leader for every athletic department outside of uconn. This is about a dumb as a ceo saying we can't afford to pay a president of our most profitable division and the division that loses the most makes more. Bottom line she is way over paid. If you can't afford pay a decent salary for football coach then you shouldn't be over paying for a women's basketball coach.

I wouldn't call it a loss leader. Loss leader implies you take a loss on a popular product with the hope that it brings a consumer in to spend money on other things that you make a profit on. WBB likely isn't bringing you in to spend money on other things. It's not popular enough.

I don't know about recent times but I did look it up about 4-5yrs ago and every athletic department lost money on WBB including UConn/Tenn. Their losses were the least, I think around 500K. RU was in the median of most schools IIRC.

Even though I'm not a big fan of the Olympic sports, I don't mind paying coaches premiums in the non revenue sports just within limits though. I think CVS was in the top 3 highest paid which is a little too much considering our AD's finances. It's been brought down recently. If we're going to participate in these sports, might as well try and compete and paying a competitive but not exorbitant salary is okay by me.

We should see soon enough which was the outliner game...OSU or MSU.
If Wisconsin/Mich/Neb are good solid games or let's say one of them is a blowout but we surprise Nebraska or someone else and win both Army and Md convincingly...then it would bring the odds of Flood being fired down drastically. Bottom line- 6 wins and he stays and he should. 5 wins, more then likely stays but hottest of hot seats- and it should be very hot. 4 wins and I can't see him surviving.

Btw- someone mentioned earlier that is 5 win teams get bowls we would embarrass ourselves...who cares, regardless of who coaches next year- those practices are very important.

We have no money.

We could lose the rest of the games by 50 and he will still be on the sidelines next year.

Our program is a joke. Damn.

Yeah no money. Sold out OSU with ridiculous Dynamic Pricing, same ( almost Sold Out) for MSU.
Donations at record levels. We are broke.

Then explain why we are in the situation we are in.

The real question is does he get a contract extension at the end of the season or not -- isn't his contract starting to run out?

We'll know if we're settling for good enough or looking to win.

Letting him work out his contract would be idiotic -- I think he gets an extension unless we are 3-9. If KF was going to be fired it would have happened by now.

KJB, if we almost beat MSU we can beat Nebraska. Carrroo needs to be healthy. Wish he played vs you guys.

We can. That doesn't make it likely, but we can. I think one of the main issues will be like the Wisc game at home last year, the fans will not come out hostile and loud at that point in the season unless we show something in the next two games,

If the only win left on the schedule is vs. Army I don't see how Flood stays. 4 wins is really rough with all the bad attention that was brought to the program this year. If he pulls off a win vs anyone else it's borderline. If somehow bowl eligibility happens, he stays.

We are broke because we carry 23 other programs in the athletic department. Almost none are self sufficient. At most top tier schools Football and Men's Basketball carry almost the entire athletic department. Smart long term planning by those schools. Rutgers' answer was Fred Gruninger and we have been in the red ever since trying desperately to catch up. Unless someone out there is uber rich you can bag the fire Flood posts. They are futile. Instead, channel the energy to see if the team can win.

most anybody who believes Flood will be fired due to wins and losses the rest of the way has not followed Rutgers sports for a significant amount of time. At some point it will change - but not likely until we start receiving real B1G conference share money.

USC
South Carolina
Miami
Mayland
Illinois

Currently open, with a possibility of several other high profile jobs. As much as a move would be nice, this really may not be the best year. At least USC and SC will likely cause other dominoes to fall, since they will take established coaches.
Might as well post the NFL jobs that will open too if you're including USC & USCe as our competitors for hiring a coach. Heck, Maryland claims to be willing to break the bank too so they're also likely not on a list of our competitors. We aren't spending in the same stratosphere as USC, USCe & likely Maryland so it doesn't matter that those jobs are open as we're looking in a different pool.

I call it a loss leader because it is the sport that loses the most but but schools keep it around I order to still have men's basketball and football due to title IX.

Read the sentence at the end of my post. Its not a matter of competing against them. Its that unless all the high profile jobs take NFL coaches, they will take established college staffs. That will trigger other moves. If USC takes Tom Herman, for example, now we are competing with Houston to hire a coach. Shit rolls down hill. All the positions have to be filled once the music stops.

He is gone. There is just to much off the field issues and if I was a parent I would like to know what the hick is going on. I was supportive of Juile, but she has been AOL during all of this and when she made public announcements or get out in public it seems like a disaster.

My guess is after Nebraska is the 4th consecutive blow out, the drug report will be released the following Monday and that will be end of the Flood error.

You always know when it is the end of the day on the east coast. Someone finally left their job and has internet access.

LOL you're really the dumbest person on this board by a long shot. I posted last week during the day. Oh, and where are all the people who said I wanted Mulcahey fired and their testimonials backing what you said?

Are they in the same place you were looking at polling the last presidential race, or where you claimed you would stop supporting RU because it had a lesbian AD?

Did you know there was a search function where you would be able to butress anything you said, except everything you say is totally out of your behind.

Go stalk someone else. There are other places on the internet for what you're into.

Probably a Sunday or the guy you get coffee for didn't lock his computer. You can't even back up your own lies, much less attempt to call anyone out. You are a drama queen without an outlet during working hours.

Your angst is palpable. 8 hours a day where there are posts about not firing Flood. Must be tough living with that and not being able to post. Good luck with it.

LOL you do realize that that is demonstrably false, like most things you say right? You do realize the few people who agree with you, which may be nobody these days as even your buds from the CE board have pointed out what a moron you have become, can within 2 or 3 clicks see I posted during the week?

But hey- when you're a homophobic moron who supports a coach with more arrests than wins over winning teams, you need to point out what times other people post.

Yeah, it's totally not creepy and weird. Do you at least go into private mode when you stalk other men?
