If you think Franklin sucks.....

If my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle. They lost to Pitt at home. They beat OSU at home. Congrats to them on their big win.
At the end of the day none of this matters. You know why, because Alabama is going to literally annihilate every college football team in there path. Yes, on occasion the ACC and B10 wins a National Championship game but the facts are the facts, the SEC dominates college football. I would send a message to the NCAA by UPS'ing the National Championship Trophy to Alabama today.

QB, Special teams, and new jersey role players kept them in the game and they capitalized. Good game. Nothing else to see here.

Penn st will always recruit well in our region. That will never go away. Them beating Ohio st last night is good for Northeast Football. It was nice seeing that. We all won.

So it took until the middle of his third season at PSU for Franklin to get his sig win and beat Ohio State. Should we expect Ash to follow the same trajectory and get his sig win in year three of his HC tenure?

Very true about Bama. They may win 3 NCs in a row. They are the closest thing to a pro franchise I've ever seen in college sports. Even more than the old great Miami teams because Bama's support and infrastructure is light years ahead of what Miami's was even in their prime.

Money, I love the pride in Norheast football! Congrats on BC win.

....then it's incredibly great for RU that PSU won tonight....because him delaying the hot seat can only mean more of a chance for RU to close the gap.

Why don't you post this on the DWI board, where there have been many more posts (especially following Pedd State losses) that claim that PenisHead Franklin sucks than there's been here.

Penn State typically has a pretty good hit rate on recruits that attend WhiteOut games. A come-from-behind win against Urban Meyer and the no. 2 team in the country can only help even more. Hard to say "no" to that atmosphere for a lot of kids.
I always felt the game day environment at northern schools like Michigan, Penn St and Ohio St enhanced that school's ability to recruit especially when the kids being recruited seen their 100,000 seat stadiums packed and rocking.
That's one reason those schools will get a lot , if not most, of the top HS talent they go after.
Franklin is a good recruiter, in my opinion, and he'll make the most of this win against the Buckeyes when selling being a Nit to the recruits he targets.

PSU lost to Pitt on the road.
They lost and that's that .:okay:
Give Pitt it's due or imply PSU beat OSU because the Buckeyes were on the road.

edit: lack of reading comprehension at fault for my making the wrong assumption and claiming
dicemen99 was implying something .
I didn't take into account the post ( quoted by dicemen99 in his reply) that only
was correcting where the Penn St-Pitt game was played.
My apologies to dicemen99 for my saying he was doing something that he wasn't.

I know most won't care but I still want to respond. The Twitter and interview comments from recruits in attendance were unlike anything I've seen in a while (Wisky 2012/Michigan 2013). Franklin was holding a brunch at his home (I think) for recruits this morning and I doubt he would need to do much selling today. Last night sold itself.

I've been going to games for over 35 years and my family has had season tickets for over 30. I've been a part of games that have been louder but never a part of an atmosphere quite like last night. The amount of adults who stormed the field and the amount of complete strangers hugging in the stands was something I've never seen before.

The only positive here to me is that it may not open a spot for schiano. As a Rutgers fan, my biggest fear would be Greg going back to Penn state.

Having said that, if we beat Penn State it will prob offset the Ohio state win and people will want franklins head.

It's because PSU hasn't been nationally relevant in a while. And I don't mean to flame one bit. Just suggesting why it was different. Last win that big had to be 2008 or 2005, no? Can't tell me beating a Hoke led Michigan in 2013 was of this magnitude. Not buying it because we did it the following year.

For me personally, wins during the beginning years of the sanctions were magnified because I was so dang happy for the kids who stayed. That Wisky game is one of my favorite PSU games of all times which is why I have it two pictures from it in my sig. The Michigan win was big because we had over 100 recruits at that game and now many of them are on our team. That probably doesn't happen with many of them if that game goes the other way.

The two Ohio State wins (Tamba Hali sacks Troy Smith and Rubin strips Pryor) are probably the two other big ones.

PSU needs to beat Purdue and Rutgers and then win 2/3 vs MSU, Iowa and Indiana. If he does that, we're in business. If he loses two more games, the season will be a disappointment based on where they are right now IMO.

As much as it was a popular thought on here, Franklin wasn't getting fired this year. Still a lot of football to be played.

I wasn't trying to disrespect Pitt or make an excuse for PSU, just correcting the post (which I quoted) which stated PSU lost to Pitt at home.

This isn't meant as a flame - truly. By my accounts, we started 8 NJ kids last night.
  • Bell and Cabinda combined for 31 tackles and played out of their minds. In addition, Cabinda ran that defense like Peyton Manning ran an offense. Unbelievable job by him in making the calls and adjustments throughout the game. Amazing.
  • Sickels was possessed. He was suspended for the 1H yet finished with 9.5 tackles and 3.5 TFL (2.5 were sacks). In his presser, Franklin joked that he may need to suspend Sickels for the 1H of every game.
  • John Reid may be the second best player on our team. He is becoming a legit, shut down corner.
Anyhow, just wanted to say that the four players I mentioned above were certainly not role players last night. They all played lights out football.

Though it would have been nice to land Reid, he went to St. Joes Prep IIRC, so he's not really an NJ kid in my (our?) mind(s). That's philly all the way - Rutgers won't win battles for prep kids w/ Penn St. and that's ok.

I really hope we kick the snot out of you guys, but I honestly believe you're going to run the table 10-2. Not completely sure but I think you guys may be playing in the Rose Bowl.

Let's just wait and see how we finish up. There's a lot of football left to play. I also don't think there is any way that both Cabinda and/or Bell will stay healthy the rest of the way. If that happens things get a lot more difficult.

Listen, at the end of the day the kids on that field played their hearts out. I watched the entire game. Did everything (sort of) go your way? Yes. In my opinion big time props go to your D-line, LB's and one ballsy QB who refused to quit. By the way, I absolutely loved the White Out. :)

DERP is me. All this time I thought Reid was from NJ.

How does him staying help Rutgers? He may suck as a game day coach but he still steals NJ players we can't keep at home.

So would anyone else at Penn State. Even if we start getting more of them, some always will go there.

What is wrong with you? I mean that seriously. If you aren't in grade school these comments aren't even close to human. WTF.

If that Pitt Panthers team played the Nittany Lions last night they would have gotten mauled.

Would of, Could of, Should of

Pitt played Penn State.

Pitt won.

Similar to saying Pitt only lost two away games to Oklahoma State and North Carolina by a combined score of just 8 points.

If Pitt played the games again today Pitt would win.

Games were played Pitt lost.

Pitt averages 39 points per game through 7 games.

Would of, Could of, Should of

HAIL TO PITT!!!!
