Interesting stats - so far.....

There was a post voicing concerns on free throw shooting:
RU - .571%
Opponents - .531 (17 of 32)

Last season we shot .623 from the stripe

On a positive note -
We have six players averaging between 10.3 - 11.8 points per game

Wasn't Gettys one of the better FT shooters on the squad last season? Losing him would account for some of the decline, but you'd hope the other guys would've gotten at least a little better.

Its mind boggling. Just shoot FTs! Lots and lots of Fts. Adrian Hill was a below avg FT shooter until his injury. Then all he did for a year was shoot FTs and he was an 80% shooter afterwards.

Dang it. If I couldn't sink 80% from the stripe I would be shooting 200+ FTs per day outside of practice until I could. I'd be embarrassed to shoot below 80%.

FTs are just about repetition.

No, they're about proper repetition. If you have terrible form, and you practice thousands of shots with terrible form... you're just reinforcing terrible form.

You need some natural ability to get to 80% in games (not practice). But no excuse not to get to 70%
