I am pretty down.... real damper on what should be a glorious day... not that we lost but that we look so pathetic. I didn't expect that on a Pikiell team. Does anyone have some hopium to share?

Before the season, I predicted 15-16 (7-13). I’d sign up for that right now because with this team’s lack of talent, lack of chemistry, lack of basketball IQ and lack of rebounding and shooting, it’s hard to see how we win 7 games in conference, let alone beat Mississippi State, which I had us winning.
This team lacks talent. Even worse, they lack toughness and heart. I can't wait for the season to end.
I asked myself “would I rather lose tonight and have Dylan next year” or win tonight and have Dylan go to Duke. Although I’d rather have both, I feel much better now.

Oskar has been probably our most consistent player and most pleasant surprise. That's a good thing that is actually a bad thing
The entire goal of this season should be the development of Gavin and getting jmike up to speed. That’s what this year always was, the outlandish expectations that this team would make the tournament was absolutely insane.

I actually thought Oskar was our best player today. That is frightening.
The goal should be winning every game.
If Gavin cant earn minutes he shouldnt play.
Every player on the team has zero recruiting stars. Time to look at the back of their basketball card
To me - we can't do enough offensively to make up for continuing subpar defense and poor rebounding. We don't have anybody that can carry our o for a decent period of time. And I'm not sure if we have anybody than can lock down a great offensive player either. We don't have many levers to pull IMO.

While I have a lot of reservations about the staff, Pike's teams always play hard and with a lot of heart.
I don't need them to make the tournament or even have a winning season. I would be happy to see a team that competes hard and wins a few big games... Hoping at can get at least that. Not a basement dwelling 2-18 embarrassment.
Pike already must have known rebounding was going to be a massive problem and started Wolf. We tried starting our backup 5 at the 4 and he was getting 1 or 2 rebounds somehow. Not really sure how Pike can fix it. Mag obviously helps if he can go on Saturday. His energy and effort is contagious
Agreed on both. He probably deserves to start at this point sadly
Next year may not be as special as we hope if the supporting cast to Ace and Dylan does not improve.

The defense is actually not bad. The rebounding is horrendous and seems unlikely to change.
A team full of role players will play better when they are surrounded by stars. The problem now is everyone on the roster is a role player

I’d like to see Chol get more minutes. We need more length period. Palmquist has certainly turned a corner this year but it will be his last year and we need more experience for next year. Jmike & Griff are obviously the ones I expect to get most experience but some for Chol will be good long run for the roster.
Unfortunately it is hard to see our rebounding improve much as our competition gets significantly better. We are holding teams to a low 40s shooting percentage, which is pretty good. The only other path to more wins is to shoot better.
Well other than Dylan they aren't commits they are signees
