I’ll say it this way. No interest in Rutgers at the time. He would/should have serious interest in Rutgers today if he were in high school

Buddy of mine coached him until he left Notre Dame and NJ for Monsignor Bonnor.

Wouldn’t say no interest but once he left NJ for hs it definitely was a long shot. Also grades might have been an issue (but think they would have got him in).

If it was today we would have had a much better shot

He's one of the few opponent players I've seen this year that I enjoyed watching and would be interested in seeing play again.

Had a conversation with a buddy of mine (runs AAU teams and tourneys)recently regarding Wong. Said it was Crazy how he went from Piscataway to Notre Dame Lawrenceville to Bonner in pa. Bonner is not some prep school. It is an all boys school that was underachieving and forced to merge with their all girls counterpart to stay open.

Buddy said there were red flags with this kid going back to 7th grade academically. Couldn’t get him into the northern parochials.

Yea he wasn’t the brightest kid. But he was a good kid, don’t want that to come off the wrong way
