I actually agree that post was pretty douchey. But don't assume the resentment towards PSU is rooted in each programs success. It's possible it might have to do with the institutional culture that pervades Happy Valley. It's a moral difference, not one on the scoreboard.

Truth is Penn St doesn't give a crap about anything but a winning football program.
Their hiring of a HC that was connected to a rape scandal and contacting the victim is proof Penn St hasn't changed the culture that allowed the Penn St leadership to protect a child molester and have Nit fans finding ways to justify that happening.

Then you have Penn St hiring a President that was part of slowing down an investigation of a rape complaint against the star player for the school he was at before PSU hired him
No wonder that school will put on the board of trustees someone out to make the Sandusky cover up look like a one person operation.
Penn St never changed the culture of wins come before victims, it just hides that MO better now and refuses to change its moral compass.

As for the RU BOT, say what you will about them , but they don't put winning over
the right thing to do once a wrong is detected like Penn St did and still is doing.

That has nothing to do with the fact that the fan base is a Cult-ish mess unable to grasp the glaring moral failings of their program and University. If a convicted University president doesn't do it for you nothing will. For the Lubranos and all the alums that voted for Joe's kid the real crime is Spanier fired Paterno. Pretty much no. Rutgers football fans may have hated the Penn State football program, but not the university. Like all sports rivalries, with the exception of a few crackpots on the fringes, it is pretty much limited to sports. Do you think Yankees fans actually hate the city of Boston?

And I don't think "hate" is quite the correct word to describe the feeling that people in the area feel about the Sandusky scandal (including the cult-like reaction from Penn State alumni). "Shocked," "disgusted," and "repulsed" are probably more more accurate adjectives.
