No you said "year over year improvement in recruiting RANKINGS." You can have good recruiting rankings and s#itty depth due to overrated players and attrition. Schiano's 2011 and 2012 classes are prime examples.
For instance...2012...we sign a super star WR in Leonte Carroo. Who were the other WRs who would be 5th year seniors now?
Ruhann Peele - left program
Ian Thomas - left program
Carlton Agudosi - overrated NJ kid who is inconsistent at best.
When Carroo was hurt or out of games we struggled. Now that he's gone we are struggling. The drop off between him and the next several players on the depth chart were huge.we need players to almost be interchangeable. But we need 3, 4, 5 of them at every position group. Even if they are "only" 3-star.
But the class was ranked #24 nationally. So rankings don't always tell the entire story.
