Jonathan Taylor decomits

These are young men looking out for what is best for them. No rules were broken. Coach Ash has to MAKE this a destination that kids commit to and not renege on. This happens at every school. I wish Mr. Taylor well as long as it is not against RU.

I was referring to the half (ok maybe it's only 1/3) bashing Lovett. There's been bashing of each in this thread and as of now Lovett is still committed.

EDITED TO ADD: I think we're recruiting Lovett as a safety, more than an RB, we had Pitts decommitt and go to WVU. My guess is he wants to play RB and stays committed to you guys.
Then it's my mistake thinking you were talking about Taylor, sorry about that.
But agree Lovett shouldn't be based, even if he decommits, and feel the same about Taylor even though he decommitted .

Just committed to Wisconsin

Well, so much for his supposed interest in taking visits to VT and Yale, and for Rutgers still being in the "mix".

It's his choice as far as what school he attends, of course, but he was undoubtedly the least solid commit we had from the get go.

Hey, it is what it is...and we move on.

This isn't even close to true. I have lived and worked in Morris County my whole life, there are more Block R's and Rutgers stickers then all other schools combined.

This shouldn't be surprising. As another poster mentioned, there are objectively way, way more Rutgers alums living in every part of New Jersey than any other school. Obviously a significant number of NJ residents go to PSU, but it isn't even close to the number of New Jersey residents that have ties to Rutgers.

I have no up-to-date information, even anecdotal. But I'd say this - I used to live in Long Valley and Denville in the 80s, and saw TONS of Penn State stickers out in Long Valley, Budd Lake, Lake Hopatcong, Hackettstown (yes, I know that's Warren). Now I work in the city but married a girl who lived in Morristown and used to go to East Hanover and Florham Park for years, and saw far, far more block Rs in the eastern part of the county over the past decade.

The block R didn't even exist back then.

Always sucks losing a recruit. No doubt about it.

Though, when I first read the title of this thread the other week, I almost soiled myself.

Thought it read "Johnathan Lewis decommits".....

Phewww disaster averted.

No offense to Taylor, but quarterback is the biggie and running backs well...we'll be able to find someone to replace Taylor.

I never said it existed then. What I was painstaking clear in saying was that I saw more Penn State stickers in the 80s. I was also clear in stating that I saw more Block Rs in the Eastern part of the county over the past decade (which is when it came into existence). No part of what I said is even remotely inaccurate.
Rutgers existed in the 80s, as did Rutgers bumper stickers, and flags, and jerseys, and merchandise. At least anecdotally, the folks I saw in Long Valley and Budd Lake and Flanders and Hackettstown just did not rock them. But since I'm rarely there now, I have no idea if that has changed. I can say, however, that I see a significant Rutgers presence in the areas that I do frequent, which are mainly limited to Florham Park, East Hanover and Morristown.
