It's not just the alums. The state woefully invests very little in total to RU compared to peers. That is another discussion.

But to answer your question, Barchi is there to focus on the med school merger. Julie is there to keep the seat warm, see what she can do to raise funds (she is doing ok here as donations are up) while focusing on becoming revenue neutral. It's not a winning formula to compete with schools like OSU. Schools like that and USC and a few others just want to win. Everything they do is with that in mind. Everything.

At RU, you hear about many other things before you hear about winning big. We are what we are, a middling type B1G program that will fight for bowl eligibility and perhaps catch lightening in a bottle every 10-15 years. No different than half the league.

It is what is for the foreseeable future. Enjoy it when you can is my advice.

Thanks for the insight, but IMO that is not good enough for such an educated and wealthy state as NJ.
