Brian Leftow, a leading philosopher of religion and scholar of medieval philosophy, who is currently Nolloth Professor of the Philosophy of the Christian Religion at Oxford University, will become the inaugural holder of the William P. Alston Chair in Philosophy of Religion at Rutgers University, New Brunswick, effective fall 2018. He will also be Director of Rutgers's Center for Philosophy of Religion.

Brian Leftow, currently Nolloth Professor of the Philosophy of the Christian Religion at Oriel College, Oxford University, has accepted a position at Rutgers University as the William P. Alston Chair for the Philosophy of Religion and director of the Rutgers Center for the Philosophy of Religion.

Professor Leftow works in philosophical theology, medieval philosophy, and metaphysics. He will take up the Alston chair, which is funded by a grant from the John Templeton Foundation, in the Fall of 2018.

Outstanding. As much as I want everything Rutgers to be better, it is vital to maintain those things that are already at or near the top. And philosophy has been for some time. Great to hear.
