Legendary P’burg wrestling coach lands back in N.J. with uphill battle ahead

Surprised.. he was my coach freshman year.
I beat a P-burg kid in double OT in the pit on a locked hands call and the whole place booed me and I blew a kiss to the p-burg side and he lost his mind lol I thought he was going to pop a blood vessel, he tried to get team points taken away (even though we lost by 40 + points)

P-burg was the top dog back in the day. Not sure how they churned out so many many great teams/wrestlers, but it was impressive. When I was in high school and didn't want to eat my veggies (broccoli and brussel sprouts in particular), I remember my dad would always say "you know..the Phillipsburg wrestlers are eating their vegetables tonight".

I had viewed P-burg as two notches above all else in NJ, yet they would struggle against the likes of Easton, Pa. I was looking at NJ high school championship history recently and marveled at the number of medal winners each year from P-burg. They were and are a wrestling town with a great feeder program. Many times, the second-string guys would have been starters anywhere else.
