Devine shot Even Par today, finishing the 36 Hole Medal Play at -2, good for a T18. She easily moves into the Match Play Round of 64. Win and advance, lose and your out.

Devine tees of at 3:10EDT against Vanderbilt's Frosh Lynn Lim. Lim has a strong amateur resume, winning several titles.

She was up by 4 holes with 5 to go. She lost 14 and 16 but tied 17 to win 2 and 1. She now faces the player who beat last year's champion yesterday.

News from the Men's team.

Incoming frosh, James Newton, just finished 8th in the Canadian Junior Boys Championship. He had the lead after the first round after shooting a 63, the 2nd best round in the tourney before going 70-71-71 to finish -13.

The team lost 2 of 3 2021 recruits for whatever reason but Newton and a Pa guy who was the #2 ranked senior in the state have been added along with a grad transfer fron a D2 school.

The women also have 3 members who are not coming back but have not added anyone to replace them according to the roster. It's a senior laden team but might be a concern that they enter the season with only 6 players when 5 are needed to compete. Last year Anna Maria Diederichs missed all but 3 events due to injury so 6 isn't an optimal #.

May be time to take a look at exactly where this program is headed.

It's actually dropped even with the same core group for the past 3 years. They finished 2021-22 ranked #118 only ahead of Iowa. They've finished above 12th once in the B1G Championship and last 3 times.

Leigha Devine lost her match in the Round of 32 today 3 and 2.

She's the 2nd RU golfer to make it that far in the last 2 years. Xavier Marcoux made it that far in last year's Men's Am, losing to the eventual Runner-Up.
