Prospects aren't about "this year" by definition, but even if it that was the case, the Yankees come out on top since they stayed in the race into mid-September even after trading away Chapman, Miller, and others. The Mets gave away their second baseman of the future in Herrera and others...for what? A terrible player in Jay Bruce and a second wild card berth, i.e. the right to get pounded by the Cubs if they're even lucky to get that far? Stupid. Not to mention that they've been blowing young arms out in the process.

I already regret giving up Dilson Herrera for an outfielder who they really didnt need at the time or now. Esp when Jonothan Lucroy wouldve been had for Herrera but the Mets balked for some reason. So tell us something we dont know.

Im shocked that the Yankees would actually become sellers and did one hell of a job collecting all of those good young prospects. If one or two of them become great players, good for them. Any GM with a half a brain (and usually half the payroll) wouldve made those move so dont go slurping each other Yankee fans.

About Reyes, I wouldnt have signed him at the time. But Im sure Yankee fans didnt have problems with Clemens and Pettite, among others as well as the adulterer ARod until they couldnt play anymore. One of your fans basically said here that he didnt care as long as the Yankees won.

Another dim bulb. I never said that you should leave the Rutgers board. I've never said ANYONE should leave the Rutgers board.....well maybe a few Temple and Pedd St. visitors....but that's it.

If you had checked the Mets Top prospects list before they traded Herrera,several younger players had pasted him by. Maybe it was the Mets trying to degrade him to keep him because they knew they would be buyers,teams do that,but I'm sure you knew that. Jay Bruce has been terrible for the METS, but believe me, he will have trade value, if and when the Mets decide to make a move. So9 the Yankees goal this year was to just stay in the race till September, then trade any chance they had for future "prospects:,really? Have they fallen that far as an organization?

The Yankees have totally outsmarted and outclassed the Mets this year. 1) They gained prospects at the deadline while staying in the wild card race through most of September and 2) They released A-Rod while the Mets signed scumbag Jose Reyes. After the Mets lose to Bumgarner in the play-in game or get smashed by the Cubs in the NLDS you'll regret giving up prospects to get the 2nd wild card. Trust me.

Yeah, the loss Thursday night to the Bosux was about as bad as it gets for me.
And having a worse won/loss record than the mets is annoying.
Why oh why do we have so many games vs. Boston, Baltimore, and Toronto and the mets so many games vs. Minnesota, Atlanta, and Philadelphia ?
BTW, I couldn't believe the ERA of the guy that started vs. the mets Friday. Berrios has what must be an all-time record 8.88 ERA....and he's started at least a dozen games for the Twinkies.

And the Cubs were 7-0 against the Mets in the regular season last year. Didn't mean much in the postseason as the Cubs had to go all out to make and win the wild card, while the Mets rested and tinkered with their rotation.

Herrera had fallen off the Mets top prospects list because he had exhausted his rookie status, and therefore by definition he is no longer considered a "prospect".

But your point is well taken. Word had gotten out that the Mets had soured on Herrera. How legitimate that is, who knows. But he was only hitting about .275 at Vegas at the time of the trade, which at Vegas is not at all impressive.

Pretty good day with the grandkids at CitiField. The 8 month old was actually pretty good with other fans before tapping out in the 6th. Left in the 7th because the 5 year old was starting to fade and Im not carrying that big bastard.

Hopefully both will be two miserablex life long Mets fans. Trying to see if i can get extra tickets this year for the Indiana or Illinois game for my RU games this year.
