Let's go METS 2016 thread ......Just get in and anything can happen!

The Mets came into this season as overwhelming favorites in the NL East and were essentially out of the race after the Nats kicked their butts in the last series before the All-Star Break. They had a golden opportunity at locking up the wild card and got swept at home by the Braves. Two of their top three starting pitchers had season-ending surgery. What on earth do Mets fans have to talk smack about? The 2016 season has been a disaster.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...any level-headed Mets fan knows and understands this season has been highly disappointing. Between the rash of injuries, underachieving players and the muttering, stuttering, bumbling manager, they've been a let-down so far. And yet, here they are, by hook or by crook, in a position to make the playoffs. The final chapter has not quite been written. Will they be the same old Mets or a nice story? My guess is somewhere in between.

What a dumb ass. Those were pictures representing YOU, and whatever posts you were making at the time. Never mentioned family. You said stop posting pictures of my family, lol, as a lame joke attempt. Deflection, and twists to anything and everything, lmao. You really are insane.[roll]

Damn....I was wondering. And it was no joke attempt. I thought all three of them had some vague connection to what I imagined you looked like.
BTW, seven of ten remaining games vs. Philadelphia. Amazin'

At this point, it's all that matters.

The part of my post that you chose not to quote shows that I am one.
This is what he does. He should write for crooked politicians. He's already said he's a Socialist, that should tell you all you need to know about him. Talks out of both sides of his mouth, and loves to talk misery about other teams, and white washes his teams faults.Tainted, that's what his teams best years in the past 50 years have been.Tainted.Just for starters, I'll let others fill in the blanks.

and the muttering, stuttering, bumbling manager
Agree with the dissapointment in the record, but after the slew of injuries I can't really find fault with the manager who somehow held it all together. I like that he goes against the small-ball grain, and uses all the players on his roster. When and where had this been proven wrong?

Please. There's no such thing as a level-headed mets fan.
This coming from the Yankee fan of the Year... and thats saying alot.

Once again, this poster has made a thread about the Mets into a KBee thread and has taken full credit for this. But yet he calls Mets fans sensitive because he cant take back what he dishes out.

-Continuing to play d'Arnaud over Rivera. Not saying Rivera is Piazza. But he has played alot better than D'Arnaud all season long at the plate and more importantly behind the plate.
-His use of relievers has been suspect all year long. This has exasperated after the September call ups because he has more pitchers to use... and f""" up.
-Not pinch running for slow players at the wrong time.
-Continuing to have Tim Tuefel as 3 Base coach has left to be desired.

Agree on D'Arnaud. They are being very patient in waiting for him to become the hitter they were expecting. It paid off with Flores, and now to some extent with Grandy. I'd have pulled the trigger on all 3. If he's right, it will pay dividends at the right time.

FIRE COLLINS TONIGHT! Hernandez has tried to bunt at least two times in every game vs Phillies this year. Reyes is playing way too deep. Flores injured because he wasn't pinch run for. Didn't have lefty even warming up with Freeman batting 4th in inning. Next game takes out reed vs Freeman ? Thought Bruce was faster than Nimmo? Yea he has to play guys batting .200 , doesn't mean Terry had to bat them 5th. AGAIN FOR THE TENTH TIME IN THIS THREAD.....he won NOTHING IN 20 years until he had a guy hit 18 home runs in 50 games last year.

I was watching tonights game off and on, and when I saw the bases loaded walk to put them two down in the top of the
11th, I was ticked, changed the channel....came back just after the game winner.... wish I saw it live, but I gave them up for dead

Even Larry Bowa may have a problem with that video you posted lol. Nothing may not happen tonight. But didnt the Mets go into a little dive after Philly hit Cespedes (or someone else) in retaliation of Hansel Robles quick pitches?
I'm not really a fan of Hansel's to tell you the truth. He has the tools to be a closer, but is too much of a hot head, and gives up WAY to many HR's mostly because of pitch placement. Plus, did Bowa ever have as dramatic a HR as that last night? He was as dirty a player and hot head as any that ever played. For some reason though Collins and Bowa are best of friends, so I don't think the bat flip will be an issue.

The Amazings have to bat a kid who played the entire season at Triple A, 4th, and are making their run with 3/5 of their pitchers from Triple A. No team, at least this season has had to compete in a real bonafide playoff chase with anywhere near the injuries. Sellers, buyers, doesn't matter. At some point it comes down to intestinal fortitude. Some teams have it, some , not so much. The media and it's fans, who have never given up, are totally engaged by this team, and they capture the never give up attitude that is NYC.

Aroldis Chapman plays for the Cubs. At least the Yankees had the good sense to obtain prospects at the deadline instead of trading them away for a bum like Jay Bruce. Why would you give up prospects to try to win a wild card and get swept by the Cubs if you're even lucky enough to make the NLDS? In addition to ruining great young arms and signing Jose Reyes, the Mets organization has been a disaster ever since the 2015 season ended.
Oh so because the Yankees traded him when they gave up on the season they shouldn't get criticized for trading for an abuser? You're a moron
