As much as today hurts, there are still many things to be proud of and this team gave us many moments of jubilation. Here are the top 5 for me!
5. Crushing Indiana at the RAC: After a lackluster performance against major conference foes OOC, this game seemed to be our annoucnement that we were still a force to be reckoned with. An electric atmosphere as we bullied the Hoosiers yet again.
4. Painting NYC Scarlet: Weeks of bellyaching about this game, it turned out to be in many ways the high point of the season. We had a great crowd, a stirring second half perofrmance, heroic acts by Paul, and we ended the day 8-4, in second place, and seemingly on our way to another tournament. The only sour note: the Mag injury, which would turn out to be far more consequential than we realized at the time.
3.Cam buries Northwestern: We didn't even quite realize at the time how good a win this would end up being. Just an absolute thriller that presaged one of the promising themes of the year: strong play on the road.
2.The Penn State comeback: Quite simply one of the most memorable Rutgers wins that I can remember. It may be sort of lost ot history a bit now that we didn't end up making the tournament, but we should always remember this unbelievably gutsy performance.
1.Duh: Down goes Purdue Again: No explanation needed!
Honorable mention:
OSU Overtime win
Michigan BTT win
Gutting it out at Wisconsin.
