Lots of Keys from Carino--Including a November Tournament maybe??

Lots of interesting nuggets in there!

How would the MSG game be a neutral court game when the NCAA shafted us on that against MSU? Schedule sounds great, especially if we get that Bahamas slot.
Believe MSG is only a home game if we play a B10 opponent there.

Definitely interesting stuff.

My reactions to the nuggets.

A Bahamas tourney is a great thing

I’m concerned that Mag won’t be the same player next season

Mental health , Pike was def talking about Paul imo

Pike wants Hyatt to go pro.

Pike likes the 3 Frosh a lot.

“Neutral site” game at MSG.

Agreed except for that one. All college-aged kids and particularly athletes need to pay particular attention to their mental health, as a society we don't prioritize this as mush as we should. Times are different, different pressures on them whether it's playing hoops or getting grades. Pike has 4 of his own so he knows this more than just about anyone.

That really sucks but no one should be shocked. Social media is a sewer and when you leave yourself open to be contacted by anyone, you're going to find yourself dealing with slime.
Was there a particular game where Simpson made a meaningless shot to blow the spread? I'd like to hear more about this.

We already played Miami last year, so the Bahamas would only be replacing one cupcake game, right?
Will Providence be Quad 1/2 next season?

I really hope the Bahamas things happens. Now that it's been teased, most of the fan base will go nuts if it falls through for whatever reason. We need it. He can still play CCSU if he wants.
If it happens and it is not yet probable, the Bahamas event is likely at the Baha Mar and currently has Providence,K-State and Miami in the field. It is a November event. The Atlantis event is filled. Pretty sure 2023 marks the end of the Gavitt Games.Any non-conference MSG game is by definition neutral. Looking like St John's could be the opponent.

It’s always been going on, now it’s out in the daytime and govt is monetizing
True, but it's more in your face now and likely people who may not have thought of taking the leap before are now doing so. Also, because it's more out in the open and legal in many cases, knuckleheads may feel justified in harassing a player.

I would think a non-conf game at MSG against St Johns would be a home game for them right? Anyone else and it'd be neutral, but it's literally (one of) their home arena.

Would have to pull up the NCAA rules where they give examples of a bunch of scenarios.

FanDuel, DraftKings, etc are major sponsors in pro sports , maybe college sports broadcasts too?

Why would Derek allow randos to post or message him on his social media pages?

He needs to ignore gen pop

All sounds encouraging for the program. The staff ultimately needs to find a expanded role for Baye Ngongo and a path towards his development and the parts of this article seem to indicate that is happening.

The MSG game became a home game because RU controlled the gate. If we played SJU then they would control the gate = away game. A tourney game at MSG would have no team control the gate = neutral.

Incorrect.MSG would completely control the gate and tickets equally available to both teams. Could even be a doubleheader and all teams allocated tickets. Would be a neutral game. No guarantee it happens of course.

Wrong RU did not control the MSG gate. The Big Ten did. It was a neutral game by all definitions, MSU’s band and cheerleaders were there and got every alternating media timeout

Should we be shocked with how prevalent gambling is now? It's completely ingrained in all sports.
This is sad but it shouldn't be a surprise to anyone.

Go on any mid-majors twitter account after a lost and look at the comments. Its about 10-20 random comments from people who have no affiliation with the program just saying horrible things. its all gamblers just furious that they lost.
