Nothing left to say about the game that hasn't been said, so some insight on the game day experience.

Madison is a pretty large college town, especially in terms of the number of buildings, with the state capital co-located with the University. There are really no tailgate grounds, and the parking is dispersed throughout the city. There are a number of bars which have outdoor tailgate type parties, ala Jackson's in Phoenix. The rain put a damper on this experience. The team has a pep rally with the band there and one of the cool things was the band leader said "this one goes out to the Rutgers fans then proceeded to play Colonel Rutgers adding a tongue in cheek twist at the end. Instead of chanting RU Rah Rah at the end they said RU Serious, go home.

The stadium is large with athletic office and field house facilities attached to it. The student section was organized and energetic, doing many variations of the wave. There were a number of variations of the wave and of course the 3rd and 4th quarter break was crazy when they played "Jump"

They had their Freak Fest at night where 40k people wandered the town, state street specifically, in their Halloween costumes.

The fans were friendly and I would definitely do this trip again.
