Mario Cristobal was 27-47

Lincoln Riley is a prodigy, excels at everything he does. He'll figure out away to beat Urban.

Scott Frost has been groomed by the best coaches. He comes from a brand that appealing to kids. These kids want to score touchdowns, become stars and have Top 10 match up against Ohio State on Saturday nights.

Rhule can win here but I want offense.

I think we can do better than Cristobal. I understand the obstacles he faced at FIU, but going 27-47 doesn't shoot you to the top of the list of a B10 East school. Maybe if he was killing it as an OC at a top school, but I just don't see it. At this point I think Rhule is my top (reasonable) choice. Seems to be a good coach, good recruiter, and local guy.

I'd be happy with any of those 3. Not sure we'll target them but I think they are solid choices! Sorry for doubting you. (Lincoln Riley at age 32 might be a little young though, and might get eaten alive by our media market, but I'd take the risk)

That doesn't mean the other list are failures, but those are good choices too

Broken record time....Big names (besides the retreds) are not coming here...I actually thought Christobal was not coming here either however alot of programs like Minnesota and Illinois blinked and he may have fallen on our lap....

I know Scott and Lincoln personally. They'll both take this job. Scott loves NJ and respects our talent. Lincoln is probably the most loyal person you'll ever meet. He won't leave us for T-Tech like Rhule would leave us for Penn State.

its not fair to judge mario by 27-47. it would be like judging schiano by his first six years, had he left for Michigan.

it takes time to establish a program, which he did, and towards the end, he won a conference championship.

you can say he doesn't have coordinator experience, etc. but bringing up 27-47 is just silly.

This is a fair argument. I still think we can do better than an OL coach who's last head coaching experience was a 3-9 season in the Sun Belt. This is a Big East hire, not a Big 10 hire.

Look at the hogs he has at Alabama. He'll recruit the same to Rutgers. Thats what makes him a Big 10 hire.

Mario took over a mess at FIU. Had high school facilities. And no Lane kiffen, could not get it done at USC.

Rutgers can do a LOT better than Mario Cristobal.
Cristobal was 27-47 as head coach in his area of expertise, Florida.
He was born in Miami and has lived in southern florida for most of his life.
Mario would be a terrible candidate for any B1G football program.

Matt Rhule on the other hand has proven that he can coach in the northeast.
