Regardless of whether or not it helps anyone I think it’s a good move...it would be nice to see more players do this. Take the move seriously and when you commit somewhere, stick to it.
Seriously?Just saw that. He wants to sit down with his family to discuss his college decision.
I guess he hasn't had the time to do that up until now.

Yep, that's all he did...or maybe you guys have issues.Lol! He sat around and played AAU ball that's all! Now it's time to talk to mom and pops!
Unless you are a one and done recruit I doubt any recruit can be certain he made the right decision. There are too many factors involved such as location, academics, playing time ,relationships with coaching staffs, league competition and the importance in playing in the NCAA Tournament.I still think this is good to make certain he is making the correct decision. It is a major decision in a young man's life. Perhaps the U Conn staff was putting a lot of pressure on him to commit as they had a poor season last year and they lost several guys to transfer at the end of last season. They might be feeling a little pressure and tried to squeeze him. This is just a thought. If that is the case let him share opinions with his parents. He might just realize how good our staff is and has his best interests in him as a person. I'm sure his mom and dad would like to see Montez play in a lot of games and RU is only about 3 hours from Baltimore.
-----------I thought all signs were pointing to him committing but now people are saying that this is good for us. Confused?
---------I'd think this increases the chances for a 3rd team.
I just hope he signs in November. My biggest fear (besides signing with UConn) is he drags it out, has a monster senior season and one of the blue bloods (i.e, Duke, UNC, Kansas) swoops in late and inks him in April. From all indications, though, it doesn't appear that will happen.
If he were a heavy UCONN lean, I'd say this is good for Rutgers. Otherwise, I would be nervous
It's easy to pick UCONN...
It's hard to pick Rutgers
If the kid needs some more time to make the tough choice, I can wait
Fool's rush in where wise men fear to tread comes to mind after reading your message.Lol! He sat around and played AAU ball that's all! Now it's time to talk to mom and pops!

A possible concern with a late November decision for another school would be filling the need at the shooting guard position with a go to scorer similar to Mathis.I just hope he signs in November. ----I like the delay.....get the AAU dudes ( and their Agenda) out of room and make it a Family Decision, which is the way it should be.......Montez, Mom and Dad. No one else.
This guy thinks the decision will be on Saturday.
not if it's Yuk'nIt sounds like his decision will stick , whatever it is. That alone will be refreshing. $$$$

when he announced his commitment date, he probably thought he was going to go with Uconn..... the last couple of days before that, RU made up a lot of ground, and it became a 50/50 choice, or so it seems..... the common thought here is that he slightly favors Uconn, but the family likes RU
so, he did not announce for Uconn as he planned..... this is the good news..... we have not won the battle in total, that might have been too much to ask at this point.
