In the final tournament before the B1G Championship Rutgers stands 8th out of 13 teams starting today's final round. The event is hosted by OSU at the Columbus Country Club.

After shooting a 5 Under 67 Friday, the 2nd best round so far and an even par 72 yesterday, RU's Rhett Sellers is currently tied for 5th. He is followed by Luke Wells who is T32nd (+2) and Xavier Marcoux T46 (+4).

PSU's Louis Olsakovsky leads at -9 with three players at -7. #23 Illinois leads at -23, with OSU -16, and PSU -10.

Next up is the B1G Championship, the final tournament of the year, starting Friday at Crooked Stick in Carmel, Indiana. Winners of 6 straight B1G championships and all but 1 since 2009, Illinois is the favorite to repeat once again. Rutgers is currently the 10th ranked team in the conference ahead of Nebraska, Minnesota, Michigan, and Maryland.

The women's team is really good so maybe it evens out.

It's amazing how consistently good Illinois is year after year.
They pour a ton of money into their program and they have had some/many guys on the PGA tour I think maybe Steve Stricker and a number of others; same with OSU

Recently Stricker, Thomas Pieters, DA Points, and Scott Langley. Thomas Detry on the Euro Tour. There's a few others who have bounced between the Tour and Korn Ferry.

The facilities they have available to them are fantastic. A number of other B1G programs are up there too.

Speaking about money and facilities, Chris Gotterup has climbed all the way to 11th in the PGA University rankings. Being inside the top 15 means exemptions to various mini tours depending on where you end up.

In other news SHU has all but wrapped up the Big East Tourney (3 stroke lead in the clubhouse with 2 teams playing 18) today and will get an auto bid to the NCAA's.
