As mentioned, PGA Tour member Max Greyserman won the title in 2014. He just finished 2nd at the Tour's 3M Open last week and will qualify for the FedEx playoffs. Chris Gotterup won the NJ Open in 2019 so there's a history of future success. It was long ago but 2 members of the Golf HOF also won the championship. 4 Time Major champ James "Long Jim" Barnes and PGA Champion, NJ's Vic Ghezzi won the NJ Open. Between them they won around 40 Tour events.
This will be a interesting year for RU Men's Golf. Including Gutierrez, 7 of the 9 members of the team will be Sophs or Frosh. Having Grad Noah Kumar back after missing a year is huge along with the other upper classman, Sr Weston Jones.
The schedule is a mix of annual trips and new to RU events. They will be playing in the first NCAA D1 event ever held in Canada. Some other schools entered are the B1G's PSU, MSU, and Mich. Kent St, Mizzou, ND, and Wash St are among others participating.
