2. No massive RAC overhaul with the exception of cosmetic changes to inside and outside.

3. Locker room overhaul. Weight room improvement.... specifically for women

If money wasn't an issue, you'd still be looking at a completion date of 2017 or 2018.

I thought julie and some on here have contended that plans would not be released until the funding issues were resolved--you know that talk about plans on her desk,etc.

66 -- I hope funding is resolved as part of the June announcement. Otherwise this is just a new set of pretty pictures.

That doesn't mean money needs to be in place in June. But the funding plan needs to be more than crossing our fingers and hoping someone steps up with donations.

she said plans were not going to be released before feasibility studies and meetings with top donors were done. If you bothered to watch her video, she said the important donors had to take ownership along side of Rutgers and if they didn't, they need to find a plan in which they would. I would assume over the next 3 months this is the stuff that will be worked out

I'm not in construction, but, if you break ground in March 2016 after the season can a practice facility be completed by November. That's 8 months and right in time for fall recruiting and the start of the regular season... at least the B1G schedule.

What I don't understand is why the B1G school and Rutgers can't renegotiate the revenue terms. I'd think it would be in the best interest of all 14 schools. Maybe the reality is Rutgers is investing properly in football and that's all that matters.

well bac plans for the baseball facility were released and from recent article "That project has a price tag of slightly more than $3 million, and Hermann has said it's her hope to have the privately financed facility built by early 2016"---so contrary to all the nonsense about not releasing plans until the money was there--these plans were released months ago, the money's not yet accounted for and this simply designed baseball facility "may" be built by 2016---in your lifelong endeavor to believe all that is implied or said by Julie you believe anything -it's far better to hold everyone's feet to the fire--and demand action not bs

My guess is a new practice facility building with areas for multiple sports teams to use. It will have a large focus on basketball but may have a section for wrestling, gymnastics, and other sports. It may be coupled with a sports medicine facility so Barchi can sell it as both an athletic and academic infrastructure improvement. As for the RAC I expect to see a couple of million dollars of enhancements around the fan experience and locker rooms. In addition, they will probably provide more details on the baseball / softball practice facility. They may even discuss replacing the football practice bubble.

please don't compare the two projects, not even close to what they need to raise and two separate issues as that project would be entirely funded by baseball interests, you had to get that out...they had fundraising events for that. The project is going to get built. The scale of the project is not as enormous as what the basketball facility is. You really are a joke with your contest attacking. Its beyond apparent what you are agenda is. Again how much did Julie piss in your Cheerios, your bashing goes beyond the everyday skeptism that I could understand from people.

I'm not in construction either, but 8 months seems fast based on what I've seen from previous construction at Rutgers, and other commercial construction in the area. For example, construction of the new NB Seminary building took from Sept 2012 (when the plans were approved) to July 2014.

Here's a comparison.....This story was published on September 23, 2014. Basically, October to August. That's 10 months. But, New Jersey construction workers are the best in the country.....lol

#1 and #3 are part of the same project. A basketball practice facility is not just basketball courts. It also includes locker rooms, weight rooms, coaches offices, meeting rooms, rehab, academic rooms.

This is happening at a lot of the expansions you see. Notre Dames new football stuff has a bunch of academic stuff in it. NU has a sports science lab and testing center in one of the expansions(fb) and some kind of computer research lab in another part. If I recall Microsoft put up some money for it and the rest was donated by a former player who did well in the NFL.
