As I enter the Stadium in Minneapolis at 10:30am on Saturday really believe that we will score more than 1 TD (on Offense that is).

Great fan you are, #1!! We are gonna score a few TDs, and might even grab a pick-6. If our offense gets a few more extended drives, maybe seven or eight more first downs than our norm against non-top-5 teams, our defense will get the rest they need. Rutgers is the bottom of the Big Ten, in FOOTBALL*, in 2016, yes. But not as a school - not when it comes to research, especially science, engineering, and medical; not when it comes to a stadium and atmosphere - a night game at our place when we have a shot is more intense than Illinois, Purdue, Northwestern and I'm sure a few more could ever dream of; and not when it comes to some other sports as well. Are there some sports, notably football and basketball, where we currently are not good - yes. But if Ash stays the course with recruiting the way he has been, football is about to be good again, and we will see what Pikiell can do but so far the team looks like it will improve. The good/bad thing about college sports is the players you have will all change in 4 years, so if you build a BRAND, a CULTURE, that's what keeps the good ones coming. And that's what Ash is doing.

If they shut down Giovanni Resigno our defense will have no answer for their offense. I would give the points because the probability of them shutting us down is greater than the probability of Giovanni being the next Mike Teel. My comment is purely based on betting. Also factor in that it's an away game.

They won't necessarily know how to practice against Gio with the limited tape available. They have a sub starting at QB so they are "worse" than normal and we have now improved on offense. The difference in speed between Gio running and CL running was easy to see last week. He will keep the defense on their toes. Also, we know he cannot possibly throw worse than the lowest ranked QB in the B1G (CL), at least that is how it seems with the little he has played. We had more drives in a few possessions with Gio at QB than we have had in the last 2.5 games with CL at QB.

Wow, this board is like a typical Gopher board. ;-) Anyway, as a Gopher fan, I really don't know what to think. I believe this should be a Gopher win, but this has all of the makings of a trap game. That and the Gopher football program is not quite at the level of saying any win is an automatic win.

I think it's crazy that two programs that have played football as long as "our" programs have never played each other.
