I think this is an important note to make that in Year One, that while we are rebuilding, we have shown progress from the last three years.

It's very easy to see the difference between Pike and EJ.

Funny how the Pen St crowd was so docile and basically disinterested today.
Not too many @ Pen st care about their hoops team.

The football rivalry has a lot of juice/hatred but not in the basketball.

The atmosphere at the RU/SHU game was a zillion times better than today.

Pikiell is the real deal. I firmly believe he will have us in the NCAA's in three years after this season.

Big time NJ recruits have to realize that Pike is a top-level coach.

They should want to play for him and rep their home state.

With a good team, the RAC will get packed, with 8,500 loud screaming fans, it will be a nightmare for opposing teams.

The seating for the RAC has been reduced to 8000.

For all you fans who want a generic multi-purpose arena. Be careful what you wish for.

No ice or hockey at Pitt. Exception rather than rule.
Who is saying we need an new all purpose arena? We actually have expansion plans to turn the RAC into a more modern arena that can seat up to 12,000+. Personally, once we start winning consistently and start selling out 8,000 seats, that should boost season holders and and then like our football stadium we can move forward with plans to renovate and enlarge the RAC. And it makes sense, especially since the new basketball practice facilities will be adjacent to it.

Interesting that Chambers is in his 5th year with no NCAA and a losing record. He brought in a very talented class last year so I assume they give him at least next season and probably another one to show progress. I feel like we really got a gem in Pikiell and think he has out-coached a bunch of guys this year including today.

I agree RU MAN

Renovate & enlarge
The RAC is a special place

They should get ahold of some of our posters
Ive seen some great ideas on this board on how to maximise fan noise and interaction!!!

We have had ZERO sell outs. Let's get 5000 season ticket holders and all 9 B1G games a sellout and then we should talk.

Rather invest in coaches. RAC won't be a better home court with more seats AND revenue doesn't get added with seats.

This gets debated all the time, but I hope we NEVER get rid of the RAC.

If the time comes (i.e., if there is a need, and the $ to make it happen), upgrade it, renovate it, whatever you want to call it.

Just don't replace it.

It can be a deadly weapon.

I know it's been said a lot the past few years (and most of the time, very empty), but we're truly 2 or 3 players away from being a very solid to good team. The foundation is there - hussle, determination, defense, rebounding and etc. We just need the talent.

The four star center coming in is a great start and a pure PG can only help. Very exciting times.

I also hope we keep the RAC. If we get really good an expansion or renovation would be fine. Where are the plans for this as I have not seen this as being official? I hope we never have a dual arena. Hockey would cost a fortune and put us into major debt again.

It's basketball, every team is 2 or 3 players away.

Simply put, but totally correct.
Ok, so we are 2-3 players away, so we get them over the next 1-3 three
years, then we graduate a few a year so we are back where we
started. So it is a lot more complidcated than 2 or 3 players away.
If Sanders flies the coop this year are we now 4 away? We graduate
3 are we 7 away?

Most of the good teams are 3-4 guys away EVERY year
but they replace the graduating players
with players of equal talent
its an ongoing process\

If we had just ONE scrapper like Wiscs HAPP(doesnt DOMINATE,,chips away RELENTLESSLY)
we would be in the thick of things(upper 3rd)

100% agree...you couldn't build a place that is conducive to a frenzied atmosphere if you tried. Too much $ and building regulations to get in the way.

You guys have yourself a great program builder in Pikiell he will do things the right way. This is not a guy that is here just to collect a paycheck. Give him time and this team will be competing for a spot in the tourney again in a few years. Really like this guy no ego just hard work.
