Weirdest season in my memory as a fan, lol. Beat #9 UCLA and #2 Texas on neutral courts and look like a top 2 seed … proceed to look AWFUL for a stretch and lose a 5-star player … proceed to win four in a row and look possibly better than before. 🤷🏼♂️Illinois playing well. Seems like they got their issues ironed out.
I don't think so. Eddy is holding the ball with one hand. The other hand is hooked around the MSU player's hand. That seems like it should be a foul on Eddy.I guess I'm in the minority here but that's a good call. Edey clearly has the rebound with both hands. It's his ball. Unfortunate that the MSU player has his hand stuck in there, but it's a foul on him. Just unlucky he got his hand caught and couldn't get it out
He grabs the rebound with 2 hands clearly has total control then MSU players hand is caught in the cookie jarI don't think so. Eddy is holding the ball with one hand. The other hand is hooked around the MSU player's hand. That seems like it should be a foul on Eddy.
(This is my first time seeing the play and tbh upon seeing your post I was expecting to agree with you.)
So much about basketball is WHEN you play a team. Wish we played you guys during that awful stretch. I knew it wouldn't last. Season is always filled with ups and downs for most teams but Illinois is going to be very very tough to beatWeirdest season in my memory as a fan, lol. If it’s only one dribble, it’s legal. Typically called a power dribble in the post.Surprised no one mentioned that Edey double dribbled on his last winning shot. He gets the ball and before he spins to the basket, he bounces it with both hands to the floor and catches it again. That's a double dribble. I thought it looked strange and almost child like but the refs didn't call it and the announcers didn't mention it either. Anyone else catch that?
That's the initial action, but if you look at the top angles near the end of the video clip (and even the slowed down side one) you can see that Eddy has control of the ball with his left hand only while the right hand/arm is still hooked around the MSU player. He could have let go of the player without letting go of the ball, and he had no need to swing him to the ground like that.He grabs the rebound with 2 hands clearly has total control then MSU players hand is caught in the cookie jar
Got it. Didn't know that. Thanks. If it’s only one dribble, it’s legal. Typically called a power dribble in the post.
yes two of them would be losing the home court advantage vs. a top B1G team and losing lot's of money for doing so.There are way worse things than playing 1 home game every 4 years or so at MSG.
I am not totally against it . It’s the Mecca and not bad to have a presence in NYC.yes two of them would be losing the home court advantage vs. a top B1G team and losing lot's of money for doing so.
Hey, let's play Nebraska or PSU, or NW there...fine.
Looks more like a hook and hold on Edey to me than on Sissoko. He locks down on the arm while he spins. Dangerous play IMO considering the size and strength of Edey.
I get all the benefits. I love going to the Garden for a Rutgers game. It just doesn't have to be one of our key home games. That's all.I am not totally against it . It’s the Mecca and not bad to have a presence in NYC.
The post season tournaments are all played in these type of professional arenas. Nothing wrong with us playing in these settings . Hopefully, we will be back to MSG for the east regional and all these complaining folks here will get their wish as a neutral site game.
Maybe it will help us in east regional ! Very few teams get to play a sweet 16 game on a court they played a home game at.I get all the benefits. I love going to the Garden for a Rutgers game. It just doesn't have to be one of our key home games. That's all.
I jsut watched it like 4 times I didn't see any double dribbleSurprised no one mentioned that Edey double dribbled on his last winning shot. Perhaps. I was thinking of my analogy this morning.Maybe it will help us in east regional ! Very few teams get to play a sweet 16 game on a court they played a home game at.
Bad call? You want to see a bad call? This is a bad call.
