There seems to be something different about his demeanor this year. We all know how intense and control freak he was the first time around but it's beyond that. He seems to really go off the handle at some inappropriate times. Does anyone else notice this or is it me?

It’s you …. Because he defends his players or program or yells at a QB who was going between his team into the tunnel at the half. Or his insistence that it has not been an ideal situation with the injuries to co starters ? Or because his AA kicker got roughed up pretty good or the BS offsides on the blocked kick? Yeah he’s different so what.?

One day our best will be good enough to beat the best.
I believe 1.0' s actual (cringy) quote was 'someday our better will be better than their better'.

Am not lying. It was that bad. However, it was after a tough loss and his mind was probably all over the place at that moment. Stupid as it sounded, I gave him a pass on that one.

Not even talking about the tunnel issue. I'm not trying to imply anything and I'm a GS fan but for me at least there seems like there's something else going on.

I think he's always been this way, you just don't remember. Recency bias. Remember the explosive tirade when his assistant approved delivery of the wrong brand of eggs to the dining facility?

I saw him blow-up at Anthony Davis once during a game
Veins were coming out of forehead and his eyes were bulging
Except for Kelly I never saw a coach so mad
Currently I think he feels the expectations
People overpay for their cfb these days and it sucks to struggle
When you have to fire an offensive coach midseason I'm sure its drag - especially when you start an injured 19 yr old QB on a broken offense without the best RB

Let’s me be clear here.I know you like Schiano even with his warts .My take is he has probably heard all the negativism not only from the press but this fan base as well .When I say fan base don’t take that as literal. Also , he knows that the lack of NIL support is hurting and will sound a death knell for his program if Rutgers doesn’t figure some things out. People on this board whining about NIL don’t for the most part help with that issue at least I have not heard of any .If Hobb’s who I believe is a good guy for procuring donors needs to get with the powers that be and strongly explain to them the need. We have some very connected people in many different areas in this tri state area alone and some have helped but we need a whole lot more. Schiano is a not only a long time coach but also a business man who understands what is going to happen within a short period of time. That I believe is why he appears somewhat different.

Then you haven’t been watching many college football games .Over the years I have witnessed many such incidents around the country and in person.

In general, he's trying to act calmer; you can see it in his press conferences. I'd be interested in your examples of "inappropriate times." For instance, I wouldn't be concerned about GS losing his temper during games. A lot of that is probably play-acting to motivate the team and to intimidate opponents and referees.

Maybe I'm completely wrong. It wouldn't be the first or second time. (2 ex wives)
Lmao. Nah I think he’s been a bit more tense lately.

He wants to win, and win big. He’s clearly not happy with what’s happening and I think he feels pressure building.

Hobbs has absolutely zero loyalty to GS. The second GS loses the majority of the fan base, he’s gone.

I do think it would do the team some good to see him loosen up a bit and just enjoy being out there against Maryland. Go have fun and see what happens. I’ll bet the penalties decrease

Losing 55-10 to a rival in Y3 in front of a crowd that's half opposing fans has gotta stick in his craw

IMO the stress of having poor results would wear on anyone. No matter how tough you act, the weight of losing takes a toll on everyone. Year 3 of a 8 yr contract, you have to start turning the corner soon or you are what you are. A career sub .500 coach with more losing seasons then winning ones. It’s his legacy at stake now.
