I figure with a billion guys announcing their intent to transfer, I'd consolidate ones worth looking at in this thread. Only guys confirmed to be transferring or at least in the transfer portal are considered.

Pat Andree, 6'8" 225, PF, Lehigh, Grad
There's on a thread on him on the board. Lots of people saying he's not a Big Ten guy but he's gotten interest from Illinois, Seton Hall, Xavier, and some others so there's at least a shot he's a high-major guy. Very very good three-point shooter (41.5% career) and can rebound a bit. Orginally from Colts Neck, NJ.
Committed to NC State

Makai Ashton-Langford, 6'3" 185, PG, Providence, SO
This would be a complete bet on his high school reputation, because his numbers in two years at Providence are brutally bad. But once upon a time he was rated as a top-50 recruit. Originally committed to UConn before switching. Played high school ball in New England so I'm sure Pikiell has contacts or has seen him. Needs some serious development and is likely more suited to dropping down to the A10ish level, but still.

Chase Audige, 6'4" 193, CG, William & Mary, FR
Good shooter (37.5% from 3 his freshman year) and has the size and athleticism to be a Big Ten player, especially with a year of strength and conditioning.
Committed to Northwestern

Noah Baumann, 6'5" 180, SG, San Jose State, SO
Pure catch-and-shoot guy. 45% on threes on over 250 attempts over two seasons. Not a plus athlete or defender. Literally just a three-point specialist but it's something we badly need.
Committed to USC

Barret Benson, 6'10" 240, C, Northwestern, Grad
Basically if you're looking to replace Shaq Doorson you'd get Barret Benson. Big guy, takes up space, doesn't really do much on offense. He was good in limited minutes as a freshman but his numbers have regressed every year. Originally ranked around #150 as a recruit so maybe there's some potential to be unlocked.
Committed to Southern Illinois

Xavier Bishop, 5'8" 150, PG, UMKC, SR?
Conflicting reports about his eligibility. If he's sit-one, play-one then it's a non-starter and not worth taking. But if he's immediately eligible then worth a look. Okay, his size probably makes him a pass anyway, but he's a good distributor and his shot has gotten better each year at UMKC.
Committed to Montana State

Kerry Blackshear, 6'10" 250, PF, Virginia Tech, Grad

Basically the best grad transfer available. Will be snapped up by a blue blood unless the new Virginia Tech coach can convince him to return.

James Bolden, 6'0" 175, PG, West Virginia, Grad
Maybe above our pay grade. Very good three-point and free-throw shooter... Maybe not a pure PG. I expect a lot of high-major teams to be involved with his recruitment.
Committed to Alabama

Rasir Bolton, 6'2" 180, SG, Penn State, FR

Terrific free-throw shooter also shot 36% from three and should be a talented shooter for the rest of his career.

Anthony Massinton-Bonner, 6'2" 170, SG, Colorado State, Grad
Good three-point shooter (38% and 44% the last two years on about 170 attempts) and a very good free-throw shooter (85% career number). Probably doesn't have a spot here given our guard situation although we certainly need shooters.
Committed to Missouri State

Jordan Brown, 6'11" 210, PF, Nevada, FR

Former McDonald's All-American didn't see the floor much in Nevada with all of the experienced depth in front of him.

Jared Bynum, 5'10" 172, PG, St. Joseph's, FR
Small guy but his game is big. Excellent assist/turnover rate for a freshman. Maybe not quite the shooter he needs to be to justify what he gives away on defense because of his size.
Committed to Providence

Haanif Cheatham, 6'5" 195, SF, Florida Gulf Coast, Grad
A former top-100 recruit who started out at Marquette. He was named Marquette's top defensive player his freshman and sophomore years but left the team after five games in his junior year for personal reasons. He transferred to be closer to home but only played nine games with FGCU because of shoulder injuries. Anyway, he's a career 36% three-point shooter and 77% free-throw shooter and would give us frontcourt depth.
Committed to Nebraska

Chris Clarke, 6'6" 215, PF, Virginia Tech, Grad
Suspended all of last season but averaged 8.2 points and 6.3 rebounds the year before.

Committed to Texas Tech

R.J. Cole, 6'1" 185, PG, Howard, SO
High-usage, good efficiency guy in the MEAC for two seasons. Played HS ball at St. Anthony so I'd expect one or both of the Hurley brothers to get involved here. Shot 38.7% from three last season.

Committed to UConn

Jaevin Cumberland, 6'3" 185, SG, Oakland, Grad
The cousin of former Cincinnati star Jarron Cumberland, Jaevin is a quality shooter... I think. After just 49 attempts in his first three seasons (one short one where he got a medical RS), he popped up and hit 105-263 (39.9%) this past year. He went from hardly playing to being a major piece. He takes care of the ball and played huge minutes.

Jeantal Cylla, 6'7" 215, PF, UNC-Wilmington, Grad
Frontcourt depth piece. Not as good as you'd want him to be inside, only 46% career on two-pointers. Shoots a lot of threes but only makes 31%. 79% free-throw shooter though. Not really a great rebounder. He'd need a lot of coaching to make his game work in the Big Ten.
Committed to Arkansas

Alihan Demir, 6'9" 232, C/F, Drexel, Grad
Not really the outside threat Rutgers would be looking for, but he's a presence inside and would be a valuable frontcourt depth piece. Went for 14 points and 8 rebounds in their game against us in November.
Committed to Minnesota

Cheikh Diong, 6'11" 220, C, UNLV, SO
Provides some size in the middle. Decent rebounder in the Mountain West. 60% shooter. Poor free-throw shooter (55%).
Returning to UNLV

Trey Doomes, 6'3" 175, G, West Virginia, FR
Described by Bob Huggins once as the team's "best athlete by far" but he hardly got off the bench even though the Mountaineers were depleted this season. Top-175 recruit Decent handle and passer from the video I've seen but you have to assume there was a good reason he didn't get off the bench. Probably would've benefited from redshirting this season, so sitting out next year would be good for him. Kind of a project but worth a flier.

Anthony Duriju, 6'7" 215, PF, Louisiana Tech, SO
Another more modern forward. Doesn't do any one thing tremendously well but he rebounds, blocks shots, and shoots the ball at decent levels. Originally recruited at LaTech by Tony Skinn so there's some buzz that Seton Hall may be in on him.
Committed to Florida

Kevin Easley Jr., 6'6" 232, F, Chattanooga, FR
SoCon Freshman of the Year. Shot 38.3% on 115 three-pointers averaging 14 points and 7 boards. Originally from Indianapolis but was rated outside the top 300 in recruiting. I expect him to land at a high-major spot. 10 points, 8 rebounds against Michigan back in November.
Committed to TCU

Aaron Falzon, 6'8" 225, PF, Northwestern, Grad
Former four-star recruit but it never really happened for him at Northwestern. Great freshman year but was slowed by injuries. Can step out and shoot it (35%) but he's not much of a rebounder. Really bad numbers in limited time this season, but also scored 21 on 6-7 shooting against Indiana in January.
Committed to Quinnipiac

LJ Figueroa, 6'6" 195, PF, St. John's, SO
Should get a waiver to play immediately. Apparently he might return to St. John's if he likes the new hire, but he was probably expecting there to have been a new hire by now. Anyway, he's exactly what we need: A wing who can shoot. 38% from three, 58% inside the arc. And because SJU was such a small team, he got lots of rebounding action.

Returning to St. John's

Adam Flagler, 6'3" 170, SG, Presbyterian, FR
38% three-point shooter as a freshman, won Big South Freshman of the Year. His #1 similarity score on KenPom is... Seth Curry's freshman year at Liberty. Not bad.
Committed to Baylor

Jaylen Fornes, 6'3" 210, SG, UNC-Wilmington, Grad?
Forget it if he's sit-one play-one. If he's a grad transfer, well, he can shoot (37.8% career on three-pointers) and so he makes the list. Lost his starting spot during the year so probably not a guy we'd be on.

Jalone Friday, 6'9" 235, F/C, Abilene Christian, JR?
Again, sit-one play-one guys aren't really worth taking but it's hard to know the situation with these guys so he may be a grad transfer. Got kicked off the team for violating university policies... could be a tiny little thing since it's a conservative Christian school or could be something big, obviously have to do some homework. Big guy likes to shoot (37.4% on 257 three-pointers in his career) but his numbers regressed from a big freshman year. Doesn't rebound the way you'd want from someone with his size.

Danny Garrick, 6'6" 195, SF/PF, Nicholls State, JR
JUCO guy who played one year at Nicholls. Shot the hell out of the ball from three (40% on 163 attempts) and did almost nothing else (defense, rebounding, scoring inside). Probably not a high-major guy but I'm pretty much putting any true shooter on this list.
Committed to Ft. Lewis College (D2)

Admon Gilder, 6'4" 199, SG, Grad
Missed a year but was very productive at Texas A&M including near-40% from three point range.
Committed to Gonzaga

Jaire Grayer, 6'5" 200, SF, George Mason, Grad
Another shooter. Was poor as a freshman but 37% on 373 attempts since then. Obviously a willing shooter. Does more than Garrick in terms of rebounding, blocks, steals.

Donnell Gresham, 6'1" 203, CG, Northeastern, Grad
Combo guard who's a very good three-point shooter (41.4%). He can also handle the ball a bit but he didn't penetrate much against CAA opponents so there's no reason to think he would against Big Ten defenses.
Committed to Georgia

Lavar Harewood, 6'3" 195, SG, South Carolina State, Grad
Shooter. Originally from Brooklyn, started at Maine (and wasn't good) then transferred to South Carolina State and popped up this year pretty much out of nowhere to shoot 39.3% on 107 threes. I'd be very surprised if he ends up at a high-major but if you want a sleeper.... he's your pick.

Wesley Harris, 6'8" 200, SF, West Virginia, JR
JUCO guy who was good as a sophomore for WVU and then "meh" as a junior before getting dismissed from the team.

Hauser Brothers, Marquette, Grad/FR
Grouping them together because they're a package deal and there's no chance Rutgers gets involved. Just putting them on the list for completeness' sake.

TJ Holyfield, 6'8" 220, C, Stephen F. Austin, Grad
Originally recruited to SFA by Brad Underwood. 38.8% career three-point shooter and a very active rebounder. Gets to the line a decent amount and can knock them down (76%). Should be a high-major guy.
Committed to Texas Tech

Nick Honor, 5'10" 190, PG, Fordham, FR

Yes, this is the guy who lit us up in December. While he had a good year, that game was sort of an outlier. He only shot 33% from 3. His size and the fact that he's not a great passer (like Bynum from St. Joe's) make him a no-thanks for me.
Committed to Clemson

Noah Horchler, 6'8" 210, C/F, North Florida, SR
He's sit-one to play-one which is never ideal, but it's looking we'll need frontcourt players for the 2020-21 season and he'd fit. Already been contact by other high-major programs including Arizona. Over 60% on two-pointers and can at least nominally shoot the three (33% on 131 attempts). Was kicked off the team late in the season for a violation of team rules.
Committed to Providence

Joe Hugley, 6'7" 215, C/F, Central Connecticut, Grad
Another forward who can shoot threes (36% on 200 attempts)... Also a very good free-throw shooter (81.6%) and an alright rebounder. Didn't even start for CCSU so probably not a guy to jump up to the Big Ten, but he did have 9 points and 7 rebounds against us back in 2017.
Committed to East Tennessee State

Skyler Hogan, 6'5" 213, SF, Southeast Missouri State, Grad
Transferred to SEMO from a D-II school where he shot 42% from three... 37.5% last season. Mostly just a shooter.
Returning to SEMO

David Jenkins, Jr., 6'2" 200, SG, South Dakota State, SO
Really, really good shooter who has Gonzaga written all over him. Originally from Tacoma, WA.

Committed to UNLV

Jayce Johnson, 7'0" 235, C, Utah, Grad
Big man out west averaged 7 and 7 for the Utes.
Committed to Marquette

Shakur Juiston, 6'7" 220, PF, UNLV, Grad
There's a thread on him here, you can read all about him. Originally from Newark.

Christian Keeling, 6'4" 175, SG, Charleston Southern, Grad
Very productive combo guard who can do a lot of things very well. Would be a really great get for a high-major.
Committed to North Carolina

Teyvion Kirk, 6'4" 185, PG, Ohio, SO
High usage, low efficiency guy. He can score but he was asked to do way too much for his skillset. Could be alright in a backup role but probably not at the high-major level. Gets to the free-throw line at a high rate.

Committed to Colorado State

Cameron Lard, 6'9" 245, C, Iowa State, SO
Extremely productive big man when he gets on the floor. However he's been suspended at least once and had off-the-court trouble. But a fresh start might be something good for him. Originally from Louisiana.

BJ Maxwell, 6'5" 190, SG/SF, Abilene Christian, JR
Was kicked off the team along with Jalone Friday. Shooter... 44% on 73 attempts this past season. I think he might be a sit-one play-one which, combined with getting dismissed from a team, makes him a no-go.

Matt Milon, 6'5" 209, SF, William & Mary, Grad
Started his career at Boston College, transferred to W&M after his freshman season. Career 41.8% three-point shooter and I expect him to get a lot of offers to return to the high-major level.
Committed to UCF

Takal Molson, 6'5" 205, SG/SF, Canisius, SO
He was Mr. Everything at Canisius. His three-point number took a big step back (36% as a freshman, 27% last season) but the rest of his game was strong and he's the kind of guy that could be quite good in a smaller role for a power-conference school.
Committed to Seton Hall

Bryce Moore, 6'2" 195, SG, Western Michigan, Grad
Missed all of this past season with a knee injury. In 2017-18 as a junior, he shot 40% on 160 attempts for the Broncos. Not as good of a free-throw shooter as you'd want (only 70%) and doesn't offer much in terms of rebounding or defense.
Committed to Xavier

Isaiah Moss, 6'5" 208, SG, Iowa, Grad
Pretty nasty three-point shooter will surely find a good home.

Kevion Nolan, 6'2" 170, SG, Samford, SO
Deadly three-point shooter who probably should have taken more attempts (41-88 on the season). Pretty much just a shooter.

Braden Norris, 6'0" 180, PG, Oakland, FR
Hit 47.8% of his three-point attempts while posting a 25% assist rate... yes please. He's allergic to the paint (only 29 two-point attempts) but that can be worked on. Against Michigan State he was 6-7 from three and had three assists to one turnover. Against Xavier he had 8 assists and just one turnover.
Committed to Loyola Chicago

Joel Ntambwe, 6'9" 210, PF, UNLV, FR
I expect him to be a pretty hot name. He's the stretch 4 who can shoot threes... he hit 38.6% as a freshman. Helped out on the boards, decent free-throw shooter for his size. Needs to get better inside the arc but there's a lot to like here.

Dominik Olejniczak, 7'0" 260, C, Ole Miss, Grad
Big fella doesn't have the rebounding rate you'd expect from a guy his size, but he's a good shot-blocker and decent at slamming the ball home. Also not really a liability at the free throw line (70%).
Committed to Florida State

LJ Owens, 6'3" 165, SG, William & Mary, FR
A very good shooter (38% on threes on 71 attempts) he's the kind of guy you'd want to get to sit out a year and then have three to play. Basically, he's what people wanted Peter Kiss to be (Kiss was a 27% shooter). Should benefit from the redshirt year to bulk up a bit but he should be a piece for a power-conference team.
Committed to UMBC

Christian Peevy, 6'6" 185, PF, Incarnate Word, RS SO
What an odd profile this guy has. He's not exceptionally big (and probably too small for the Big Ten, to be honest) but he gets all of his points inside. Only 4-16 lifetime on three pointers but he's an 85% free-throw shooter so you'd think he would have the mechanics to make it work. Having already used his redshirt year I doubt a high-major goes in on him but I'm leaving him here because I'm truly fascinated by where he'll go and if he'll start shooting threes.

Justin Pierce, 6'7" 202, PF, William & Mary, Grad
Probably out of our range given the high number of established programs that have reached out already. He's a good shooter, passer, and rebounder so it's really no surprise that he'll have plenty of suitors lined up for him.
Committed to North Carolina

Jeff Pollard, 6'9" 240, C, Washington State, Grad
Played center in a power conference (well, kind of, it was the Pac-12) and acquitted himself nicely. High-percentage scorer when he attempts a field goal, and also not a bad free-throw shooter, though he's not a big volume guy. Coaches would need to get in his ear and improve his rebounding.
Returning to Washington State

Jahaad Proctor, 6'3" 215, SG, High Point, Grad
Started out at Iona before transferring to HPU. Originally from Pennsylvania. Really active scorer, got to the free-throw line 154 times last season. Serviceable outside shot (34.5% career). Good assist/turnover numbers though he's not a true PG. Going to be a high-major transfer for sure.
Committed to Purdue

Jahvon Quinerly, 6'1" 175, PG, Villanova, FR
Well I think everybody here is familiar with him. Even if you wouldn't touch him with a ten foot pole, it's going to be very interesting to see how this situation unfolds considering a year ago every fanbase in the country would have been thrilled to get him.

Nate Sestina, 6'9" 240, PF, Bucknless, Grad
There's a big thread on him on here. I expect him to have a ton of high-major interest.
Committed to Kentucky 4/4/19

Carter Skaggs, 6'5" 215, SF, Washington State, Grad
Originally from Indiana, he went to JUCO then Washington State where he shot 38.6% on 280 three-point attempts in two seasons. Mostly just a shooter, doesn't do a whole lot else.
Committed to UNC-Wilmington

Derrik Smits, 7'1" 240, C, Valparaiso, Grad
Any seven-footer is going to attract attention, and Smits has already heard from a couple high-majors. He's gotten a lot better in three years at Valpo and was pretty much the focus of their offense this past year.
Committed to Butler

Keith Stone, 6'8" 253, C, Florida, Grad
Backup center for the Gators, probably more of a PF skillset. Pretty productive three-point shooter but doesn't do as much work inside as you'd want him to. Might be a good take if the staff believes they can instill more toughness in him and get him to work for rebounds.
Committed to Miami

Justice Sueing, 6'7" 215, PF, California, SO
Bright spot on an otherwise-miserable Cal team, but he isn't much of a shooter (only 31% on 248 attempts in his career.

Committed to Ohio State

Jake Toolson, 6'5" 205, SG, Utah Valley, Grad
Elite shooter and the nephew of Danny Ainge. Started his career at BYU. Duke and Virginia have made his final 6 list, so, yeah, that's the kind of talent we're talking about.
Committed to BYU

Rayjon Tucker, 6'5" 210, SG/SF, Little Rock, Grad
Basically the gem of the grad transfer class along with Pierce and Sestina. He's been a terrific player at UALR for three seasons, a high-volume, high-efficiency scorer who gets to the line a ton. It'd be great to get him but as a North Carolina native he has a ton of great options close to home to choose from. NC State has already reached out, and I expect UNC will as well when their season ends.
Committed to Memphis

Cameron Tyson, 6'3" 185, SG, Idaho, FR
I can't lie, this right here is my white whale. Idaho was complete garbage this year. But I swear this guy can play. He shot 224(!) three-point attempts and hit over 40% of them. He has a great stroke (88% from the line as well) and given a year to sit out can become a more complete player and a real part of a power-level program. I realize the odds of Rutgers pulling a guy across the country are slim (he's from Seattle originally) but I'm still going to be disappointed when he transfers to any school besides us.
Committed to Houston and I don't wanna talk about it

Daniel Utomi, 6'6" 215, F, Akron, Grad
Typical wing shooter: 39.1% on 504 career attempts at Akron. Only an average free-throw shooter and not much of a factor on the glass, but he could be a nice role player.
Committed to USC

Matt Weir, 6'1" 180, SG, IPFW, SO
Pure shooter. 41.2% on 148 attempts in two seasons... 88% at the line. Smaller than Tyson and a year older. Size is probably a no-go in the Big Ten.
Committed to Nova Southeastern (D2)

Lamont West, 6'8" 222, PF, West Virginia, Grad
A similar profile to Akwasi Yeboah. A willing three-point shooter if not a terribly efficient one (33.6% career). Has three years of experience against high-major competition.
Committed to Missouri State

Eric Williams, Jr, 6'6" 206, F, Duquesne, SO
Committed to Oregon

Akwasi Yeboah, 6'6" 235, PF, Stony Brook, Grad
There's a big thread on him with tons of info.
Committed to Rutgers

I really really REALLY want to get a proven three-point sniper on the roster.

One guy I had on the first draft of this list (Jason Carter) just committed to Xavier today.

This is total speculation - no knowledge but,

I will not be surprised if Jahvon Q transfers and we are in play

BARF!!!!!!!

He has 5 stars in HS
He has 0 stars in college
Rutgers plays college basketball

If he got ZERO minutes last year I'd be intrigued.
He played ZERO minutes this year.
2019 Villanova wasn't that much ahead of Rutgers 2019, if he cant make a rotation of Villanova 2019 don't touch with a 19'9'' pole.

I appreciate the work you put in.....

You could have screened for players 6'8'' and above. I will be very disappointed if we take a non center.

There is 1 basketball and 120-140 minutes for perimeter players. we have a bunch that everyone likes.

There are a lot more guards and wings than big men. Competition for them will be more intense.

Ill pass on Quinerly and get a stretch 4 and another C.

Didnt look at anyone on that list under 6'7"

Saw Rayjon Tucker play at FGCU. Tremendously talented all-around player. Wonder if he ends up back playing for Joe Dooley at Eastern Carolina?

It's possible but I think he might want a shot at playing in the ACC.

Cam Lard is transferring from Iowa State and immediately becomes the best available Center. Probably will be tough to keep him out of SEC country (he's from Louisiana).

Florida backup C Keith Stone also entered the portal, he'd be a useful backup.

didn't necessarily say I approve - just a sense of the possibility

and I'm ok with it if Pike does it

CJ Gettys was an anamoly. The concept of us getting a big grad transfer that can move the needle is VERY flawed. There is a supply demand imbalance for grad transfer big men.

Agreed which is why I'm hoping we target a sniper.

Frankly two HSers is probably preferable but having two available scholarships at this point isn't ideal so I think we get one HSer and one transfer. I'd he happy with Prince and a sit-out shooter (has to be a proven guy though, no Kiss 2.0 with his sub-30%). I get why others want a 4 or a 5 though.

Mostly I'm just getting nervous about Rutgers' name not even being brought up much as possibilities for 2019 guys and transfers. I feel like in prior years there was a lot more buzz.

If you think we need a sniper what 2 perimeter players on the team do you want out of the rotation?

Who?

By the way Kiss was a sniper. Sniping at mid majors is different than snipping in B1G.

So are you saying we should pass on him if he becomes available?

What about any of the players who committed to Vandy? Probably a long shot but we need to be all over every situation like this?

With bracketology in the rearview mirror I'm tagging in for bac and taking over the constantly-updating long piece beat. Here is my first stab at the 2022-23 transfer watch. Names in each category are roughly ranked in order of how much I want them to come to Rutgers.

In The Portal, Confirmed Rutgers Interest
C Neal Quinn, Lafayette (7'0" 260)
- He led Lafayette in usage and, weirdly, assists. Clearly his role would be different (smaller) at a power conference school but he has a decently well-rounded game. He drew a ton of fouls, blocked some shots, grabbed some rebounds, shot free throws at an acceptable clip (66%). He's not a shooter, obviously, but otherwise seems like he can give you what you need from a backup center. I'd worry about how he does defensively especially on the glass: As a team, Lafayette ranked dead last in the Patriot League in giving up offensive rebounds. He's going to be outclassed athletically but if he can give you 85-90% of what Ryan Young gave Northwestern then I think that's acceptable.

He's going to take an official visit to Rutgers. Other report visits: Penn State, Buffalo, Richmond. Assuming Cliff comes back, Quinn would get more playing time at any of those schools. But he's from New Jersey and Rutgers maybe best-positioned to get to the tournament from that group of four schools. He played three season at Lafayette but would be eligible for two more seasons if he wanted.

In The Portal
F Jaylon Gibson, NC State (6'10" 220)
- He was offered by Rutgers and at least was discussing a visit during his recruitment. He wound up committing to Wake Forest but decommitted when Danny Manning was fired. A bunch of high-majors pursued him after that (Rutgers seemed to have cooled on him by then) and he wound up at NC State. After hardly playing as a freshman he saw the court more as a sophomore in 2022 including a handful of starts. He was relatively effective but his on-court role was extremely limited, just a 10% shot rate. That's lower than everyone on Rutgers this season except Jalen Miller. Hasn't been much of a shooter (sub-50% from the line and only one 3 point attempt in two seasons).

C Jaylan Gainey, Brown (6'9" 220) - He's been top 5 in the Ivy League in both offensive and defensive rebounding the past two seasons (2022 and 2020) and acquitted himself well in games against UNC, Syracuse, and Maryland this season. Very efficient scorer at the Ivy level. Has received interest from Boston College, Penn State, and a handful of others. Originally from North Carolina.

Wing Sean Durugordon, Missouri (6'5" 215) - From Queens and played HS ball in Connecticut. Rutgers had some reported interest but it appears never officially offered him. He wound up as Missouri, choosing them over Georgia, Depaul, VCU, and some other mid-majors. He barely played (and Missouri was baaaaad and needed all the help it could get) and wasn't every effective when he did so the mid-major level (A-10, CAA) might be more appropriate.

F Jayden Martinez, New Hampshire (6'7" 215) - Martinez has played four seasons at UNH so he'd be one-and-done at his destination. He's been a great three point shooter the past two seasons, above 40%, but his free throw number is below 70% and he was bad from behind the arc as a freshman and sophomore. Without looking up any video, he feels like the kind of guy fans are excited to get but then he doesn't wind up making that much of an impact.

Not In The Portal (Yet?)
Because this section could theoretically include every player in America, I'm going to limit it to those who I see as having a reason to eventually be in the portal (mostly coaches leaving)

CG Nijel Pack, Kansas State (6'0" 180) - With Bruce Weber resigning it's about to be open season on Kansas State's roster. I think guys will put their names in the portal even if they wind up returning, like many on Indiana did last season. Anyway, Pack is from Big Ten country (Indianapolis) but Indiana and Purdue did not offer... though Butler did. Pack has been a terrific shooter (43% from 3) and showed point guard skills before moving off the ball more with Markquis Nowell transferring in to Kansas State. I would take this guy in an instant but I assume we'd have to get in a long line of potential suitors if he were to enter his name.

G/F Niels Lane, Florida (6'5" 206) - From New Jersey and was teammates with Cliff at Roselle Catholic. Played sparingly but then averaged close to 20 minutes in the Gators last ten games including a 16 point 9 rebound effort against Texas A&M in the SEC tournament. The major red flag here is the shooting: Just 1-13 on three pointers in his career. Florida coach Mike White left for Georgia so we'll see if Lane decides to depart as well.

F Jabri Abdur-Rahim, Georgia (6'8" 210) - A former top 40 prospect, Abdur-Rahim originally went to Virginia (where he didn't play) and then transferred to Georgia (where he was the sixth man on a very bad team). Now Georgia is moving on from Tom Crean and I presume new coach Mike White is going to try hard to retain Jabri. He's already used his free transfer so he might have to sit out, but if there's any interest in returning to New Jersey I'd rather we get him than Seton Hall. His stats are nothing special but similar to Jacob Young I'd bet on the potential and the pedigree (his dad is Shareef Abdur-Rahim... one complicating factor is that Shareef is the G-League president so maybe he pulls something off to get his son in there).

PG Zion Harmon, Western Kentucky (5'10" 160) - A weird case here. Harmon was a 4* PG who chose WKU over Seton Hall, Maryland, and Murray State but never enrolled at WKU due to "personal reasons." His name isn't officially in the portal yet so he may yet enroll and play for the Hilltoppers. WKU has not made a tournament under Rick Stansbury so who knows if they bring him back.

Kiss and Doucoure in spot duty. I'll ride with that rotation.

What about any of the players who committed to Vandy? Probably a long shot but we need to be all over every situation like this?

Matt Ryan is transferring from there. Started out at Notre Dame. 6-8 and a 36.5% career three point shooter. New York native. Grad transfer definitely worth a look.

This is total speculation - no knowledge but,

I will not be surprised if Jahvon Q transfers and we are in play
he's transferring. He is interested in RU however the feeling may not be mutual. Should be interesting

Happy with the guys we got, but yeah... wanted him bad at the time. I thought with him and Harper we had some kind of David Stern kids of NBA players pipeline developing...

He got some bad advice or bad coaching by not taking a redshirt.

If we are going to compete in a major conference we can’t dumpster dive in our fellow competitors trash can.
