Seeing how the Navy QB and rest of the offense looks to sideline before each snap reminds me of when RU did that and drove people on this board crazy. People thought that kind of gimmick try was not fit for "real" programs that play smash mouth football. As if that sh*t matters when you have good players and a system that works.

Does it work for Navy? - then fine! could not care less about how they get the plays called.

However, when RU did it, it chronically led to an inexcusable level of delay of game calls, or very hurried execution because too little time remained on the play clock. Far too often it simply broke the rhythm of the offense - - especially when there appeared to be confusion & the QB seemed to be staring at the sidelines in bewilderment.

Wake Forest did this against Clemson. Did not help them too much.

Of course

Every plug and play offense does it. This is how it is possible for a 3rd string freshman qb to come in and beat us. While our second string army all American qb can't get off the bench.

The only difference is Navy knows what is doing .
RU Staff lol

Navy is a nice story and I root for them, but let's face it. The would get destroyed in the B1G. Did everyone forget Flood beating them last year?

When you actually block people, it doesn't matter whether you look to the sideline or not. When you do it and don't block anybody, it looks useless and ineffective. Like when RU was doing it.
