Nebraska looked good tonight defeating Creighton on the road 74-63. The Big Ten has a lot of strong teams in the BIG Ten. It was a big win for the Big Ten.

Nebraska completely smothered kalkenbrenner. Amazing defensive job. Probably fouled him 10-12 times, mostly to prevent him from getting the ball, so not shooting fouls. They aggressively fronted him, plus aggressively cheated behind him, almost always doubling him (sometimes tripling him) in the post BEFORE he got the ball. And in tge 1st half no one else on Creighton could hit a shot, nor get anything but a 3... At one point in the 1st half Creighton had taken 24 shots (only 1 by kalkenbrenner), 19 of them from 3, and we're 3-19 from 3, and were down by 18 (maybe 31-13? Or 36-18?).
And just now looked at the box score: Creighton only took TEN (10!!!) 2-point shots all game ... TEN ... They took 42 3-pointers and 10 2-pointers ... ALL GAME. Amazing defense by Nebraska, and obviously poor execution by Creighton. Kalkenbrenner got JUST ONE (1!!!) FG attempt - and that was a 3-pointer!!!! Creighton was 12-42 (28%) from 3, and 5-10 from 2 point range. Just the craziest, zaniest stat line you will ever see at the major college basketball level, I suspect.
Now, Kalkenbrenner is not a volume shooter, usually (1st game with 22 FG attempts aside - making 20), but generally gets 8-12 FG tries a game ... he had come into the game with Nebraska hitting 41-46 FG on the season (88%+ from the field) ... got just 1 shot vs Nebraska, though, just a 3-pointer.

Still not a single Big Ten team with two losses. Lacking elite teams more than ever but as usual, you won’t find a stronger conference top to bottom.
Iowa had a lead but lost to Utah State on a neutral court..not a bad loss but its the kind of missed opportunity that could haunt them later in the year

Pump your brakes. Just folks here say that about our team, the same should be done for Nebraska. Creighton may be ranked 14th, but they are overrated IMO. Creighton has been shooting the lights out, which explains why they look like a beast. Creighton is an average team at best. Nebraska does play solid defense, but I'm not convinced they can shoot consistently enough nightly to win in the B1G.
