Hard to believe that there was no thread for the game.First quarter Nebtraska 20-8 lead.Same old lack of offense.

Nebraska 27-26 at half time.Good second quarter for Rutgers scoring 18 points and only 7 for Nebraska.

I really hate Canty running the point guard position. There have been times where she should be running the floor and she's walking/jogging the ball up the court. I saw Coach Stringer flailing her arms telling Canty to push it and she jogged up the court. At this point I think you should let KK run the offense and see if that gives us a spark.

BTN courtside reporter said that Nebraska's tight D on Tyler made her too tight/tentative in the first half, and she lost confidence. I have no idea what changed in the second quarter, but I hope it continues in the second half.

Nebraska 40- Rutgers 40 after third quarter.Scaife coming alive with 16 points but Copper has only one point.

Fourth quarter gut check for the season

Rutgers 54-51 4 minutes to go.Nebraska stifled in the second half.

Rutgers 60-Nebraska 53 one minute to go.Three players in double figures.

Rutgers wins 66- 56.Scaife scores 20 points.Parker 14 points.

Copper is still way off her usual game, just doesn't look like the Copper we all know.

This board is way off today. Wrong # of posts/replies, can't start a new thread, couldn't log on for a long tie, etc.

I wander over when we win to congratulate RU67 and his first row gang..
Thanks. Nice ball game today. Good to pull out a win even when Kahleah didn't contribute as usual. Four players in double figures. Rachel with 5 blocks. This was a big win. Wish we could replay that Indiana game.

The board has been "off" for over a month for me because I just could not log in or even view it. Finally had it "corrected" by Rivals but they gave me a new user name........looks like the proper name of a character who tried to stay incognito LOL! I hope they give me the user name I had for the past several years. Two of my computers just could not access rivals and it took an email from my wife's computer to get through. Yikes!

Now I have a thing or two to say regarding today's game. We can forget the first quarter.

I was thinking that there usually comes a time during a season when a senior decides to forget the past and realize that it's now or never. If Briyona and Rachel assert themselves like they did today the season may take a turn for the better. Ariel has good and poor moments, unfortunately. Now kahleah, as her shots just kept missing all game today and Wednesday, she showed her senior leadership with an outstanding performance in the other aspects of the game, like defense and rebounding. Junior Tyler was hiding (or well-defensed) on offense at times but made some important baskets and her perimeter defense was excellent in my opinion. Shrita came up big on offense and the freshman posts did a nice job. The ladies were very focused.

We stayed put of foul trouble, and, except for a late stretch when we turned the ball over four trips in a row, protected the ball. Nebraska has three good scorers and we made life difficult for them. I have watched their freshman sensation center on the BTN and in person tonight (her uncle sat in front of me) and let me tell you she is talented...the real deal...maybe first team all-american in a year or two. Rachel and Kahleah did a good job keeping her scoring under control, or shall we say didn't let her beat us again.

This was a tight, nip and tuck game and we really needed to come out on top this time. Well done, players and coaches!!!

Good win. We're back in the win column, which is always a good thing. Let's keep it going ladies. What's nice about this win is that Nebraska was on a six game winning streak and we did to them, what they did to us back in Nebraska. I would love to see us go on a long winning streak. What struck me as a great positive is that our bench outscored their bench something like 16 to 0.

Good win, like any win, but I still think the team is under performing. Let's hope February brings out their best. Copper needs to dominate.

I think this may be just what the doctor ordered. Slow start, got the lead, lost the lead but toughed it out to get a nice win. The Ladies could have folded after losing four in a row and in a tight one against a tough team. It was good to see the elation by the team after the game like a big load was just lifted off of their shoulders. Hopefully this is the start of a nice run!

Nebraska competed the whole game. Rutgers did not fold after falling behind and showed good focus and team play. Best :Canty and Hollivay connecting several times on offense. Good game!

The fans really got into it in the second half as RU mounted a comeback and began to pull ahead.
A group in the row in front of me were stomping their feet so hard it felt like a small earthquake.

Not to mention Rachel's two inside-out assists to an open Parker...shree for three!!

that was a great win against a NCAA caliber team in Nebraska...probably RU's best win of the season. What was even better was the way they did it in rallying and then not letting Nebby get to close at the end. Big improvement to finish a game. That was about as must of a win as you are going to get. RU finally got production from Canty who has been a disappointment. Without Canty playing well this team is doomed. Hollivay seems to now be getting into a groove and that's great. I don't know what was up with Copper, she struggled the first time against Nebby so it looks like they really aimed to shut her down. Winning with her having an off game was nice to see. Parker stepped up but we need this from her every game against quality competition. I wish Jeune and Sanders were getting more time.

RU has 4 winnable games coming up. Minnesota will be tough on the road but stealing that game could indicate this team has turned the corner. Penn St and Illinois are two teams RU must beat on the road and with the way Northwestern struggles of late, RU should beat them at the RAC. Win these 4 games and the season may be salvaged but there is still a looooong way to go to recovery and this team must continue to fight
