The board has been "off" for over a month for me because I just could not log in or even view it. Finally had it "corrected" by Rivals but they gave me a new user name........looks like the proper name of a character who tried to stay incognito LOL! I hope they give me the user name I had for the past several years. Two of my computers just could not access rivals and it took an email from my wife's computer to get through. Yikes!
Now I have a thing or two to say regarding today's game. We can forget the first quarter.
I was thinking that there usually comes a time during a season when a senior decides to forget the past and realize that it's now or never. If Briyona and Rachel assert themselves like they did today the season may take a turn for the better. Ariel has good and poor moments, unfortunately. Now kahleah, as her shots just kept missing all game today and Wednesday, she showed her senior leadership with an outstanding performance in the other aspects of the game, like defense and rebounding. Junior Tyler was hiding (or well-defensed) on offense at times but made some important baskets and her perimeter defense was excellent in my opinion. Shrita came up big on offense and the freshman posts did a nice job. The ladies were very focused.
We stayed put of foul trouble, and, except for a late stretch when we turned the ball over four trips in a row, protected the ball. Nebraska has three good scorers and we made life difficult for them. I have watched their freshman sensation center on the BTN and in person tonight (her uncle sat in front of me) and let me tell you she is talented...the real deal...maybe first team all-american in a year or two. Rachel and Kahleah did a good job keeping her scoring under control, or shall we say didn't let her beat us again.
This was a tight, nip and tuck game and we really needed to come out on top this time. Well done, players and coaches!!!
