We are going to be in serious trouble at the 5 spot next year. While he certainly has his faults Gettys has been light years better than Doorson. He plays with heart, can score in the interior, knock down a J and hit free throws). It seems like Doorson doesn't do anything particularly well (outside of just being a big body) and has offered little improvement this year. Add in the fact that Diallo hasn't even played in the last few games and if we don't get a transfer in for next year we are going to be extremely weak at the center position.

Oh no, the posters here all said Gettys can't play in the Big Ten, and that the team will be better off next year without him. Let's look at tonight's box score: Gettys: 12 and five; Doorson: 0 and 1 (no shots); Diallo: hasn't played in a month. Maybe some posters will admit they were wrong now. Ha!

Gettys and Freeman had a tough night on the defensive end. Doorson getting minutes is a sign that Diallo and Sa are not getting it done. Bad for next year

Gettys and Freeman had double digit scoring in the first half and then are ice cold in the second half.In contrast Williams and Johnson score most of their points in the second half while Sanders has scoring woes throughout the game. The small forward position is a total disaster.Bottom line 59 points isn't going to defeat B1G opponents and with the current roster more of the same low scoring efforts will continue next year.Roster changes must happen or Pikiell will place himself in similar circumstances as previous head coaches trying to explain why Rutgers can't get out of the basement of league rankings.

The 2 guards coming in take the minutes from the 3 spot unless Eugene/Laurent/Issa improve a lot.

There were only 60 possessions last night. 65 should have been the magic number to win. it was our defense, especially interior, that let us down.

FIG, I know you are a defense guy, and I agree that the defense was poor last night in the second half. But it was one game. This team's problem is NOT defense. And given how bad the offense is, this team's defensive ability is something of a miracle.

I agree....however lately offense is improving, but the defense is sliding. the last 3 games offensively we were at 1 point per possession or a whisker below. in all of our real games we only did that once (@Penn State) prior.

Defensively in the last 8 (Iowa was 8 games ago) our numbers have been pedestrian.
83 in 71 Iowa
68 in 66 @PSU (that is fine)
70 in 68 @OSU (that is fine)
72 in 65 Minny
74 in 69 @Purdue
69 in 59 @NW
68 in 64 Mich
79 in 60 MD

i think we are hitting a wall.

Average for all teams in a B1G game this year is 1.04. So i suppose Iowa and MD were only games with a big egg.

Our average is up to 1.055 allowed in B1G games
Our defensive rebounding is now 12th

Gettys will be replaced by somebody. I will put a pre/post game starbucks on it.

Just wait. I have 99.9% confidence.

Not a lack of shooting? Eugene is physically ready, Laurent needs a jump shot, and Issa is 6 9, and 25 pounds away from being a player. I can donate five.

Mensah is not ready for 15 minutes of big ten play. Baker could be if he keeps following his program.
