Never in a million years after being down 0-2 in pk

Simply insane when you take into account:

- missed 1st 2
- on road
- #1 team in nation who crushed us last year in 2nd round IIRC

Yeah and those first two PKs by RU were really weak - I could've saved them, lol (I play keeper every weekend). Very lucky, though, that tied 3-3 with UVA in the bottom of the 5th, the UVA player clanged her shot off the crossbar despite having a wide open net, as Murphy had guessed wrong. Hey, about time we had a little luck in a big time sports event (he says, remembering back to 1990, I think, when we lost in the finals to UCLA on PKs - goddamn it I hate PKs - only the NHL has it right on playing the actual game until someone wins).

That was great. Great job by Murphy burying that kick down 0-2.

Agreed, just posted this in the other thread:

Murphy kicking a PK in the 3rd frame, mind you after having just played for 110 minutes and with RU down 0-2 in PKs after the first two frames was huge to start getting things righted. Nerves of steel by the sophomore goalie.

A little luck with the UVa player hitting the crossbar in the 5th frame with a chance to win it helped swing things toward RU. Also impressive was the last 7 RU penalty kickers in a row, starting with the aforementioned Murphy, all hitting the back of the net when a single miss could have been spelled the end.

I have to admit after those 1st two awful penalty kicks I thought we were toast. Looked at my wife and said we need a miracle. Then the girl hit the crossbar and I said there it is. Great game by the RU women they didn't have many scoring chances but theirs by far were the best one's during regulation. Defense did what it has all year and yea announcer it's not just statistically the best in the nation it is the best in the nation there's not even an argument after this win.
