Rutgers finally offered this kid, might be too little too late though
Here’s what I wrote up about him when he entered the portal:
Next up is a highly productive DL from a local FCS program...
DL Rushawn Lawrence (RS SR, Stony Brook):
Lawrence is listed at 6-3, 270 lbs and has 1 year of eligibility after this season. He's from Philadelphia, PA and went to Monsignor Bonner HS. He started out at Lackawanna JUCO and transferred to Albany before landing at Stony Brook.
Lawrence has been a menace this season for the Seawolves, amassing 42 tackles, 24 pressures, 11.5 TFLs, 8 sacks, 2 FFs, 1 INT and 1 PBU.
I alluded to Stony Brook's vaunted DL when I posted the potential portal target thread about a month ago, and would've mentioned Lawrence but I didn't realize he had any eligibility left. Lawrence was one of PFF's highest graded DTs in 2024, putting up an 86.8 grade which placed him at 6th out of 918 qualifying DTs.
Lawrence picked up 4 offers since entering the portal, picking up offers from Ohio, Akron, Western Michigan and Buffalo. I like his game a lot, but he's a bit of a tweener for this level. Tape below:
Unsure why the embed isn't working for this guy's tweets, but here's his Twitter account and that has his tape:
