Drove over it last month. Potholes a foot deep and the width reallly wouldn’t accommodate two SUVs passing each other. Actually appeared to be dangerous

No there are two bridges. This one crosses the canal. The one that was rebuilt in 1995 crosses the Raritan.

24 years ago that section didn't need replacing + it's part of the canal and has to go thru state historic places/things approval, etc which adds to cost...
