Hopefully this one will be ultra-high def .. also, it wouldn’t kill them to make the screen bigger! When it was first put up it was top-5 in the country in size. Today, it’s probably bottom 10 in the Power 5. I hope it’s one long screen instead of the 3 screens from before, with them incapable of putting one giant image across.

Absolutely needs to be much bigger and we need a 2nd video board over the North gate. Our existing videoboard is only 68'x38'. MD's new videoboard is 120'x54'. We should go bigger, like Oregon 186'x66' and Auburn 190'x57' over North and South gates.

This was overdue. Video boards typically have a 10yr shelf life. Still was the original from 2009.

Make the video board as big as you want, we still won't be able to see the ineligible receiver downfield, or the offensive pass interference the dopey refs saw
we don't put any eligible receivers downfield.. not far downfield... so why shouldn't the linemen give it a shot?

I thought it was going to be one big one too.

These screens have to be millions of dollars no?
Based on the dimensions of 68’x38’, the AD should have been able to get ~19 42” Vizios from Walmart on Black Friday for around $350 a piece. They can just toss them up next to each other for under $10K. Saves us some money and we won’t be able to see what Ohio State is doing to us. Win win

With that in mind, will the AD give away the old video board to a lucky student during the first media timeout? 😀

Instead of giving away a free TV, they can just keep running past the students and put another in each week to build up the screen

Yes, but the Vizio savings will unfortunately be used up by settlements for the students injured by the thrown video board

What happens to the old scoreboard? Honest question. Does it get donated/sold to a high school or other college?

Save the money and put it into the NIL fund.

I wonder if it could be put at the other end like @Leonard23 talked about?

Maybe for Baseball or at Yurcak?
Wouldn't it be too large? On the other hand, I don't think the "scoreboard" on the other end could possibly be any smaller. That is smaller than many high school boards. When the game action is on the north end of the field, I often take a look up at that scoreboard to get the down and the score, and shake my head every time at how small that board is.

Don't remember, when the north end zone was grass and a tree or two, was there a scoreboard on that end of the field at all?
Probably into trash or recycled. It is well past it useful life span. The cost to move, install and maintain it is more than it worth.
Hey man, this ain't PSU where money flows like water into the football coffers.

Oh good. Now they can move to 128 bit encrypted winning lottery ticket numbers.

They better check which day the garbagemen take bulk trash

The should put the old video board at the front of the Yellow lot, and stream the live TV feed to it on game day.

This would greatly enhance the overall tailgating experience.

Bigger is fine, just put the score in the lower right corner, as small as possible . . . . .
A new bigger Board is great.
The old board had so much space taken up by Advertising sections.
Looking forward to seeing a much bigger video board with the action.
