NFL playoff thread

Hit on GB and the over early and pushed on a live bet in the late game. Also bet shortest TD over 1.5 yards in all 4 games. So far, 1-1 on those.
Today I have Cleveland +10, KC to win by 7-12, and the over in the late game. Kinda like AB to score at +225. We'll see.

Shortest touchdown under 1.5 yards is one of my favorite playoff props each year -- usually treats me very well.

William Hill Sportsbook going to be sending me a Christmas card in 2021 with all the money I donated to them this NCAAF and NFL season.

Put $200 on Baltimore, +140

I don't know about betting the money line but I definitely thought the Ravens would be more competitive.

Maybe they need to start taking a long look at themselves.
That's two years in a row of non-competitive blowouts in the playoffs.

The game was very competitive. It turned on one play.

I'm really glad it seems all the grest young QBs are in the AFC:
Mahomes
Mayfield
Allen
Herbert
Burrow
Jackson
Watson
Lawrence (presumably to Jax)

Meanwhile the NFC top QBs are all old and should be clearing the way for the Giants:
Brady
Rodgers
Brees

NFC QBs left:
Wilson
Goff
Trubisky(?)
Wentz(?)
Dak(?)

Goff is a product of his system, he doesn't do anything special. Wilson and Dak (presuming he returns completely healthy) are difference makers now. Murray probably is as well , would like to see a bit more from him though. Tannehill has been a top 10 QB the past 2 years, not sure if he figured things out or is a product of his OC, we'll see with Smith going to ATL. Wentz has a ton of issues to fix and from recent reports he isn't likely to work on them. Maybe Trubisky can have a Tannehill style resurgence with the right OC, but I'll believe it when I see it.

Give me the Chiefs uniform where all the gold is black or the Browns where everything orange is red and I could live with either for ours.

I never enjoyed a game done by Nantz and Romo less. They just seemed to be in overhype mode throughout and for a good portion almost outright rooting for the Browns to make plays to keep it close. They usually do a good job but thought they were a hard listen today. Just let the game flow and call what you see.

Is there a worse rule in sports that the one which burned the Browns at the end of the first half? Anywhere else on the field, if you fumble forward and the ball goes out of bounds, you retain possession at the point of the fumble. However, if you fumble forward into the end zone and the ball goes out of bounds, you lose possession on the touchback. Why the inconsistency?

and to make it worse, the obvious targeting was missed and couldn’t be reviewed. Regardless, Mayfield had his chances with his last drive and couldn’t get it done.

Crap. Forgot about Murray in the NFC.

Hopefully he has a "Watson" situation.
Great player but held back by bad head coaching.

My big worry is Atlanta/Lions drafting Fields and Wilson.
Would prefer they keep their downward trending older QBs for as long as possible.

You obviously also forgot about Darnold in the AFC.😉

No there isnt. I wouldn't be surprised if that rule is revisited in the offseason. I could even see letting the offense keep the ball but push them back to the twenty. But to award the ball to the defense for a fumble they didnt recover seems ludicrous to me.

Just put the ball at the spot where the fumble occurred and let offense keep it. Not like the offense did anything wrong.

But the Browns really got hosed on the lack of a call for targeting.

I agree it’s a bad rule. Could rule have been implemented because of raiders win in 70s when Dave Casper “fumbled” ball towards end zone and beat Chargers.

No, the "Holy Roller" play resulted in the rule that if a player fumbles the ball forward and another player on the same team recovers it the ball is placed back at the spot of the fumble. The touchback/safety fumble out of the end zone has always been the rule as far as I know. No idea why. The safety part makes sense, maybe they just made the fumble out of the offensive end zone a touchback to keep it uniform, you punish the fumbling team either way.
