Nigel?

Does anyone know his status?
Curious as well. Listened to Pikiell 's press conference again after Iowa game and that was really strange. Nigel has had a tendency to drive softly into the bigs throwing up a bad shot that leads to a run out.. I guess the staff said do not do it again because that is what he did when he got hurt. But he was really hurt and I cannot believe Coach was questioning if he really was. I rewatched Wisconsin game again, and he hit 3-4 jumpers, including 2 late in the shot clock that kept us in the lead in the second half where he actually stepped back to create separation. We need that from him . We also need his ball hawking defense on the other's teams point guard to disrupt the other team getting into their offense. I thought he was doing that the last few games. Very confusing was Pikiell 's reaction. Need BK or someone to give us more because I have never seen a coach not show concern for a hurt player.

Didn't listen to presser. Nigel has been throwing up some crazy ass shots when heading into the trees down low. He needs to just pull up and shoot or a floater would do just fine. Also would like to see our down low guys head fake more or pass back out instead of getting rejected on first tries.

Indeed, Pikiell's commentary on Nigel in the presser was strange, to say the least. It was obvious that Nigel injured himself (looked like a thigh problem to me), but Pikiell made it sound like he had no idea what was up with Nigel.

Nigel had an ice pack on his thigh throughout the game. This injury happened in the first half. How could Pike not know what happened to Nigel especially when they are in the locker room at the half. Kind of reminds me of the Hill/Echinique incident where Hill didn't know Echinique hurt his eye. [eyeroll]

Per chatter at the 2017 football recruit signing event at the Visitors Center Johnson injury might keep him from playing for over a week.

Whether intentional or unintentional, it seems like the staff is looking to confirm whether the players are going to play through an injury or not cave in by showing more mental/physical toughness....this however may not be the actual spot to question whether Nigel is or isn't injured or 100%....he's probably more annoyed that he tried the circus move, vs staying within the offense.....if you tell your kids don't run in the house and they run and get hurt, your mad they got hurt, doing something you told them not to do.....LOL....and upset they got hurt on top of it...if Nigel doesn't make that attempt (that wasn't going to work), he would be less likely to get hurt....
