you have a short memory as Waters was fired before RU got to the 2nd round of the NIT winning at Penn State and losing at St JoesOriginally posted by MCKnight2004:
With Alabama firing Anthony Grant, and Alabama in NIT, that's interesting, not sure I've ever seen a coach fired who would make NIT, could've waited til NIT was over..
Yale not making it is crazy their rpi was like 64 and they were a good team.Originally posted by Doctor Worm:
Kind of surprised Yale didn't get an auto-bid as co-champion (which they officially are) of the Ivy League. I guess you have to win the regular season outright to get an NIT autobid?
I believe it's one champion per league. In other leagues that tied for first, the team that earned the #1 seed in the conference tournament got the NIT autobid.Originally posted by Doctor Worm:

Er...Temple-Geo. Washington.Originally posted by Kbee3:
Temple-Pitt in the 2nd round could actually be interesting
I actually like several teams in this thing, but as someone above said, it's hard to know if a team is gonna be interested in the NIT.
The Sun Devils beat Uconn 68-61 in their first round match up .Originally posted by PiscatawayMike:
Arizona State was invited with a 17-15 record. I think it's safe to say if RU ever finishes with a record slightly above .500, the Scarlet Knights will get a bid.
A lot of possible solid matchups in the later rounds.
