search firm is for plan B. I truly believe Schiano would prefer to go elsewhere but the Tennessee job really F'd him over.

I'll bet the average voter in that poll has never even heard of half of the other candidates.

I know I struggle to recognize some of those names and I consider myself as someone who's following the situation fairly closely.

Looks like Ventura Highway search firm hired NJ.com to help
and Hobbs is going to go:

when hiring Ash's replacement ,based on the extensive research NJ.com did for Ventura

I picked Al Golden. Very famous name and knows how to turn programs around and has current network to the NFL.

The fact that Moorhead got any votes tells you all you need to know about the sample group.

Literally everyone of Nunzio's and Golden's friends and family are hitting the poll -- only way anybody would choose either of them over GS

Just like political polling name recognition is a big thing and obviously Schiano has that but look beyond that and the fact that NC is #2 on the list or even in the same ballpark vs others there who are more qualified tells you all you need to know about the poll.

All I'd take from this is that yes quite a few people want Schiano but I'd qualify that with that's probably all many of them know and most likely don't pay much attention to the rest of the college landscape.

I like the comment” it’s okay if you don’t want Schiano back but to try and say what he did here was anything less than extraordinary” is not acceptable. Schiano was part of the aolution. Those who trash him are a huge part of the problem. I will take Schiano or someone better. Nothing less.

The fans have spoken!

The overwhelming support of 300 people who care enough to vote in an nj.com poll.

1. Isn’t the general opinion that only “haters” read and comment on nj.com?
If so, then Schiano would actually be the worst selection.

2. I would like to see a list on local NJ.com that listed all fake names. I highly doubt many people recognize most of those names - other than Schiano.

In fact, I would bet Flood/Ash would get votes just on name recognition alone.

It amazes me we have to spend tens of thousands of dollars for a "search firm" when the choice is not only simple and obvious, but there is also overwhelming public support for said choice.
Negotiations. You have to make it appear as he's not your only candidate and you have other options. So that $88K search firm could save you a couple $100K

Schiano at least should be interviewed if he's interested.

If we go for a G5 flavor of the month over GS when he wanted to be here this board will be in justifiable insurrection.
