He was definitely at the Rutgers spring game and i think one game this year, to say 0 chance is a lie... He had gut feeling Ohio State wasnt right for so now what Michigan is? I think Rutgers has a chance

You've been told a number of times by a number of people who have very clear insight into the situation that Walker not coming to RU has NOTHING TO DO WITH FLOOD.

It's fine not to like the guy. It's okay to want a new coach. But this situation isn't about Flood.

But it makes some folks feel better to repeat the same tired metaphors and bad jokes about Flood, and when you ask them to stop, they tell you to lighten up. I wonder what these folks are like when someone in their household fails--do they harp on it over and over and over?

If someone in your house were to, say, lose their job... you wouldn't blame them if the dog died.

To me it's simple - the more people are driven to conflate, the less capable they are of understanding nuance, is simply an indication that they're irrational. Frankly, if JohnO wants to post up the New and Improved Board Rules and vigorously enforce them, posts like the one I previously quoted would probably fall into the realm of violations.

Someone asserted Michigan has repeatedly shut out offenses better than ours. Total falsehood.

I get the sentiment. We looked really bad the last two games. I'm not happy. But when I'm not happy, I don't harp on what makes me unhappy--I find something that makes me happy. I participate in a cancer survivors message board that is more positive than this board--people living with cancer having a better outlook than college football fans. That is saying something.

It is time to STOP LIVING IN THE PAST. We are a Big Ten school, start acting like it.

The change will not happen over night, it will take a while but our goal should be to build the type of program that can win a Big Ten championship. Not a Big East Championship which no longer exist,
 
we did better with nj recruits before dudd got here. we are in the big 10 and his recruiting classes are aac level. you think we are going to win in the big 10 with classes like the ones he is bringing in. thanks to dudd we are the new Indiana of the big 10

Well, I think it's entirely possible for RU to recruit as well as Illinois, Purdue, and Indiana.
I just think some here are delusional if they think we can recruit with the likes of Ohio State, Michigan, or Pedd St.

I didn't say they were not flocking here before, I was quoting someone else. The point that I was trying to make is that we need to move on from the current staff which is not Big Ten ready. Maybe they would be good enough for the Big East (not even to be honest). We need a real Big Ten level coaching staff that can build a program that has a realistic chance to win a Big Ten Championship, even if OSU, MSU and UM wins it most years, we should at least be in the mix. If we have zero chance to win it sometimes and zero chance at the Rose Bowl, then what the hell are we even doing? Just playing for low end bowls? Pride? Just to stay in shape? WTF?

Also from the years 2006 to 2012.. ZERO Conference titles. Without good coaching you will not win no matter who you recruit, we saw that recently with Texas, Michigan and Miami.

We need BOTH to be successful!
