NJ's winningest high school football program is Phillipsburg. Who is the last Phillipsburg HS athlete to play at Rutgers? I recall Phillipsburg sending players to Pitt, Notre Dame, Navy, Clemson, and Syracuse.

let it go....who needs them. Now we should reject them unless they ask nice. Who says we NEED them...we've done alright without their help.

Not sure who they have produced in the decade? Can you provide names of who went elsewhere in the last 10 years?

Haven't produced a major D1 recruit in nearly 25 years. I think Greg Troxell was the last big recruit out of P'burg. Only reason I know that name is my freshmen year roommate was a p'burg guy.

In 2003 P'burg had a player go to Pitt, Brandon Mason, a pretty good RB. Before that Larame Furman was pretty good, but think he wound up at Stony Brook. Ned Bolcar was the most notable player back in the 1990s, he went on to become an All American at Notre Dame . They have a tackle, Marinelli (sp?) might be a D1 prospect as an OL, not sure.

P'burg is much more known as a HS Wrestling powerhouse. They have Brandon Paetzall coming to RU to wrestle next year.

Not sure if anybody since but Scott Vaughn transferred to Rutgers (maybe from Clemson?) must have been late eighties.

Yeah i remember that and was excited about him....i liked when Union HS's Albert Smith and Brian Sheridan commited to....loved Tyrone Stowe too out of Passaic HS.

Back in the 70's Raritan played Phillipsburg for I think 4 straight years. It's an amazing HS venue and it felt big time for us. The first year Raritan took counting the team, band and fans over 25 buses. I think we split the 4 games with them, but the series was cancelled by them after a huge brawl broke out among the fans. Several of their fans were sent to the hospital, and a couple of Raritan fans were arrested. It was something I'll never forget because during halftime in the locker room,we saw all these light flashing and sirens going off. We didn't know if the stadium was burning down, lol,or if something else major was happening. Raritan had a lot of hoodlums back in the day.

Forgot about Ned. Worked with him for a couple years. Really nice guy but he played at ND in the mid to late 80's.

We've done alright? Your standards are low.

Why don't you look at the entire history of Rutgers football....or Rutgers sports for that matter....and then tell him his standards are too low ? I've been following Rutgers football for a long time and for most of those years I would never have dreamed of this football program being where it is today....nine straight bowl games.....the Big Ten....fans bitching about getting our asses kicked by #1. Like THAT'S a big upset.
Honestly do some of you think that if you cry loud enough about how far we've yet to go with this program we'll get there any faster ?
