No. 13 Rutgers Wrestling Continues Homestand Sunday with Buffalo

It may not be popular opinion, but I’d like to see some of the backups in action today. Heard good things about a few of them, would be nice to see in action

I don't think its going to be unpopular as most people expect to see Fongaro, Cetta, and SCW at a minimum. If Yara is banged up a little like previously mentioned we will probably see O'Donnell again as well

Looks like we might be seeing Chletsos, Packer, and Gayer as well

Shawver had clear separation before a reshot but they award him a reversal instead of escape and takedown. With the new 3 point takedown that’s a 2 point error instead of a 1 point error

I think he can be blood round and should be in top 16
I think he can be even better than that. He wrestled Glory and Figueroa to 2 point decisions last year, and LaPorta to SV this year. Aside from Suriano who destroyed him a couple years ago, he’s either won or lost tight matches in every match he’s been in in his career. He’s criminally underrated.

Shawver just needs to avoid those bad losses to inferior opponents and he’ll be ranked higher. He had some problems with his opponents length in scrambles as he gave a few reversals which could get him into trouble against better foes.

That was really lazy by Clark to let go of the leg with 1 second in the period. Bench wasn’t happy with his effort either.

Clark wins 8-2, disappointing, Major was there for taking

RU leads 20-0 at break

Not sure what happened to Tony White but he has 0 offensive ability. Not sure if he just undersized but unless something changes he is going to get absolutely mauled in the B1G at this weight.

He didn’t have offensive ability last year at 149. Wasn’t going to change at a higher weight. He’s a workhorse off the mat but I’m not entirely sure what he does well on the mat.

Not a unpopular opinion at all.. we should win this match handily and there’s no ranked matchups for seeding purposes.. better to give starters a rest if any bang ups and backups some action for this type of matchup.

I don't know anything about Buffalo wrestling, but was this scheduled because it might be better than practice? If so, was it? This seems like a total blow out but it was good for some of the second stringers to get chances to compete.

Do they teach him anything besides a straight on Shot bc that is literally his only move. He’s horrible on top and has no turns and has zero offensive ability besides above. I dont get how he won a state championship
