Someone wrote that he’s as bad as Souf Mensah. That is just mean…to Souf Mensah. I don’t understand why he sees more than 2 mins of playing time per game.

What would you expect Baker to say ? Osker still getting all this time… now that is vey telling. The season is over and done and several of these players need to move on.J Mike and Gavin Griffiths should be getting all the minutes they can. Ogbole still not an active player?

I’d like to see Jamichael learn how entire shoot FT’s. He’s embarrassed himself at the charity stripe.

Noah didn't suck at UMASS when he hit winning shot to defeat Rutgers. The RAC really needs a renovation ASAP because the performance on the court is unwatchable.

Who knows what promises have been made to get him to come here? And Pike was betting on a lot of players coming off serious injuries to be major contributors, and so far Noah has been terrible, AWilliams at best has been up and down and has missed games, Oglebe hasn’t played, and JWilliams hasn’t played, though not due to his prior injury. Seems like the bet turned up it pretty bad.

Noah and Oskar are just not good enough to be consistently productive players against BIG comp doesn’t mean they can’t be productive at lower level D1 schools.

Noah should not have been counted on to be a starter and productive player at RU and quite frankly Oskar should not have been invited back. Did Cam make a decision to leave because Noah was recruited or was he out anyways for a check? If the former, then Pike made a serious mistake. Noah is just too small and not quick enough for this level. Paul leaving probably effected Cliff the most because our guards just to don’t look to feed Cliff rolling to the basket on drives. 95% of the times it’s just go to the basket no matter or what without consideration to dishing it off.

Last night’s game was unwatchable.

GO RU

I love Pike but I don’t understand the rationale on playing Noah so much. You can see how deflated the body language is of the rest of the team when Noah has the ball because they know he’ll dribble forever, drive to the basket into a wall of defenders, miss badly or just turn it over. Pike knows more about ball than any of us, but this is really hard to understand.

He does not look to create for others. If he gets assists it’s usually by default. It’s bad for team chemistry.

And on the other side, PS got Baldwin in Portal from AAC and was the game’s MVP and the main reason they won.

When you invest your time and energy into getting a recruit you bend over backwards in order to prove to everyone around …you were correct in the choice. Man we shat the bed it appears on a few.

Well lets keep in mind he played for Rhoades at VCU so that was not exactly a tough one for them

My bigger thing is just not understanding how we target someone like Noah SO EARLY... AND EVERYONE WHO HAS A MOUTHPIECE said he was a good get, top 40 transfer guy according to richie, jerry, etc... and he just is not even close to a power 5 player

I keep saying this, but look at his stats from UMass. He was a good player at UMass. I don't know what happened but it's not purely a level of competition thing because he already looked like shit before we got into the conference schedule.

A decent A-10 player and a STARTING B10 player are two different things
I get that, and maybe even the good Noah from UMass would be a reach as a Big Ten starter, but we haven't gotten anything close to what the baseline expectation should have been from him. He was a much, much, much better player than this.

We see this now? Everyone went off of what we read and were told. When you watch those highlight clips remember don’t put too much into them. Remember the film does not tell you all you need to know.

I'll die on the hill that Fernandes was a fine guy to take and things have just blown up. Similar to a draft bust.

Anyone who had really outsized expectations needs to check their sources. Jeff Borzello at ESPN didn't have him in his top 100 (or as an honorable mention). Neither did On3. TOS had him 151st.

The other thing is sure, maybe even the expected version of Noah shouldn’t be starting on a good team in the Big Ten. But despite the unrealistic standards the defense is held to around here we are now number SEVEN nationally in adjusted D.

If we were merely a terrible power conference offense (#150) we would be a bubble team. If we upgraded all the way to the lofty heights of a bad power conference offense (#100) we’d be a comfortable tournament team and the 5th best team in the conference. I don’t think it’s a huge stretch to think Noah could fit into that.

It looked like Noah was hungry early to prove that he belonged at this level. When things went sideways for him rather than digging deep and fighting to get his spot back it looks like he’s checked out. Older guy with kid. Time to move to next stage of his life stuff.

Can’t fault Pike for taking him at all. He goes for underrecruited guys, not all those bets are going to pay off but his hit rate is a lot higher than average on those guys. Problem is that now we know what we’re getting, why’s he getting so much time.

After he committed I followed him on social media. Was shocked all offseason how long it took him to get to RU and how little he posted of him working out/hooping etc. Looking at his body it doesn't scream a guy who was working out/lifting getting ready for the upcoming season.

I don't want to judge too harshly because social media is fake as s*it but my takeaway was that he seems like an great family man but not somebody who was preparing for a year in the B1G.

I realize this is a highlight tape but it's appended by some Synergy stats at the top.

77th percentile scorer as a ball screen handler
99th percentile (!) as a spot-up guy
51st percentile in transition

He just doesn't play the way here that he plays at UMass. Whether that's coaching or Noah is likely unanswerable.

He obviously believed in him to say that . These guys know each other .
Maybe something happened with Fernandes . I mean he did just have a kid.

That kid's performance isn't embarrassing at all. Omoruyi, our senior super star, travelling on two straight possessions is embarrassing.

And almost none of those shots would he get off in the B1G.

He could've gotten them off against Stonehill (0-4), LIU (0-6), Boston U (0-1), or Bryant (1-5). It's obvious to me that he's not the same player he was at UMass.

Maybe it's how we're coaching him, maybe it's that he's not putting in the work, maybe the ankle injury never fully healed. Maybe it's all three.

The level of competition is just to high for him. For the tenth time, he's a mid level player. There is a big difference between going up against a former second team all state player from New Hampshire and going up against Braden Smith, Mr. Basketball as a senior in Indiana.

When did Stonehill and Boston U get promoted to the Big Ten?

Smaller players in the BIG have to have outstanding quality/ties to compete whether it is speed, drive, elevation, handle, quickness, strength, hops and/or shot. Even if you argue Noah has a great shot, it’s not demonstrated because he can’t get it off against this level of comp.

He’s just a non-factor on offense and defense.

It’s a shame. Seems like a great person otherwise.

His time on the court needs to be shrunk considerably to play our inconsistent young players.

GO RU

Just not sure how many times it needs to be explained that Noah’s performance can’t be explained by “level of competition”. Our OOC schedule is not much different in strength than a full season UMass schedule and Noah’s production was already way down before B1G play.

I think there’s something to be said for the fact that he’s a father now… maybe didn’t spend as much time preparing this off-season… and hate to say it he took the NIL bag to provide for his family and it is what it is maybe

I don’t blame him if he was thinking about being a dad first that would be 99.99% of peoples priority and not basketball

True about Cliff. But if JaMichael is going to be a complete player, he needs to be able to shoot FT's. Missing two in a row, or even one out of two, is not acceptable. Nor is driving to the basket as well as he does, and then he misses the layup. He needs more consistency, but he's only a freshman and I like what he brings to the team.
